Thread has been dead for 13 hours so I'm bumping these.
TRADE #1
WAS Receives:
Andrew McCutchen | .274 AVG, 5 HR, 26 RBI
(Replacing Eaton on IR)
PIT Receives:
Juan Soto
Austin Voth
Pedro Severino
Seems heavy for Cutch as a rental, but I'm not too familiar with Washingtons prospects.
TRADE #2
TOR Receives:
Ryan Braun | .330 AVG, 11 HR, 34 RBI
MIL Receives:
Sean Reid-Foley
Dalton Pompey
Too little for Braun I think, especially with those numbers. Unless Pompey is killing it wherever he is.
TRADE #3
STL Receives:
Jose Quintana | 3-4, 3.64 ERA, 74.2 IP
CHW Receives:
Carson Kelly
Luke Weaver
Harrison Bader
Sandy Alcantara
Oscar Mercado
Seems ok but I'm not sure the Cards want to give up Kelly.
TRADE #4
TEX Receives:
Sean Doolittle | 0-0, 4.76 ERA, 11.1 IP
OAK Receives:
Joe Palumbo
Brady Dragmire
I'm good with this.
In addition to this Texas trade, I have some interest (Texas) in inquiring on Sonny Gray. For starters, I know this means that I'd be taxed for being inner-division. With that said, Gray is have a really poor season. 2-8 with a 6.30 ERA and only 48 SO over 70 IP (not terrible but not exactly ace quality). Is there something that could be done here? Or is it more realistic that Oakland holds out for another year hoping Sonny returns to form? I'm trying to see if I can slightly take advantage of the poor play in hopes that a change of scenery sets Sonny back on the right path. That said, I know that inner-division tax could scare me away.
It's probably most realistic for Oakland to wait a year, but if you're dead set on having him now, throw a B and a C or 2 and that should do it for now.
