I was using the CFP poll since that's the only one that matters, but can at least use the other polls to show that South Florida was on the cusp of being a ranked opponent (and therefore a pretty good win).
Houston had a loss in a season where there were 6 P5 teams who also had 1 or fewer losses after conference championship weekend.
Western Michigan not only didn't play a ranked opponent, they barely played teams above .500
The only team that you could make a case for would be UCF, but there are equally compelling cases for why they did get left out.
