NHL 2K6 Beta Movie Clip (8-22-05)

We have just posted another movie clip from our beta copy of NHL 2K6.

"Play like the pros with our revolutionary icon-based passing system. All-new combo passing and shooting controls let you queue up give-and-go attacks, tic-tac-toe passing, puck cycling, behind the net plays and more!"

This is me vs. the AI. I have adjusted some speed settings and a few other things. It also shows off all of the camera views in the game.

Thanks for doing this Steve, really appreciate it.

I hope you don't mind but I've written up some sliders for you to use in your next video. They are the same sliders I use with NHL 2K5 (credit to alpha99) with a few additions to give a more 'sim like' experience. I'm interested to see how they perform in NHL 2K6. However, the sliders are optimised for Human v CPU play and it requires you to play an honest realistic game, dumping, cycling and realistic attempted centerings.

I know it's asking a lot from you but I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Re: NHL 2K6 Beta Movie Clip (8-22-05)

Actually, I would probably put ICE FRICTION down to ZERO. At 4 clicks it's almost like on default and the players tend to "turn on a dime". At Zero clicks, the players take wide turns and there's more a feeling of momentum when switching directions.

Also speed burst should be reversed. 4 clicks for effect and 6-8 clicks for length. This is mostly to prevent the CPU from b-lining towards the net and taking shot after shot. Slowing down the speed burst will actually give the CPU time to set up in the zone. Pass speed can be put to 4 for both the CPU and Human to prevent too many one-timer attempts (I got the CPU to take only 7-10 one-timers per game now with 10 minute periods).

And MAX out the wraparound, just to see if the goalies position themselves better with a player behind the net and if they're aggressive when he tries to come out front.

The rest of the sliders look good.

Well considering your sliders are used by more people I'm sure your comments are worth more than mine.

In regards to the wraparound slider I really don't think it's in 2K6. I went through Steve's screenshots and it didn't show up (unless my eyes missed it). Hence the reason why I said "only if it still exists".

Maybe they're still tweaking it because Bish did mention that they're still tweaking the wraparound ai.
