What does the "Madden" demo... demonstrate? (5W-G)

Shawn Drotar over at 5W-G has posted a article called What does the "Madden" demo... demonstrate?.

Quote:
"Odder still is the fact that there’s no menu that will show you the game’s controls, which are complex. After playing EA’s other football title for this season, NCAA Football 09, I’m used to throwing away a pass with the right bumper. In Madden NFL 09, that button doesn’t do the same thing - and there’s no place for me to look and see which button would."
Platform: Xbox 360 / PS2 / PS3 / Wii / PSP / NDS

Well it doesn't show much to be honest. I think EA should of let you choose the side maybe instead. And you could only do one or the other. Even then it would be much better. O well it's almost the 12th and I just like what I'm hearing so far.

what this demo says is that the casual gamer need not apply - Madden NFL 09 is a game for the Madden veteran only
Which is funny because that whole Madden IQ thing is supposed to be there to help people who ARE casual gamers and don't know football to figure this game out.

I don't know if I entirely agree, but then again, I have played Madden and 2k for years now. If I were completely new to the game and played this demo, I don't know...I might be somewhat overwhelmed by it.

I hear what you guys are saying, I mean at first I was disappointed but as I played the demo...I did see the value in it. I think getting a feel for the gameplay was more important to me so...

For the past two years the final game hasn't been polished, why would they actually polish a demo? That being said, I think the gameplay is incredible. Stomps NCAA 09. But I wasn't expecting much, so my opinion could be off. I love the new camera angles.

Wouldve been nice to get more gameplay (offense and defense) but at least we got a demo

Yea, It's a enjoyable demo but I want to play some defense. It's my passion.
