Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: Rays @ Phillies 1st

Thanks Steve!

Another nice video. MLB 2K9 looks much better than 2K8, and while it may lack some of the "punch" of 2K7, the real-time world more than makes up for it (for me).

Gary Thorne's play-by-play is fantastic and Steve Phillips is wonderful as well. I'm hearing more "generic" stuff from him, that could work with other teams. After Thorne mentions Kazmir on the mound, Phillips says... "This will be interesting. A lefty on the mound against a lineup with a lot of good, lefty hitters."

That is not a Kazmir specific line. It just sound so damn natural.

Thanks again Steve!

I think we'll need some slider tweaks.. Rollins should have made it home with no throw, imho on that double.. but I hope we only have to make some minor tweaks for a playable game out of the box so to speak.

You're really doing a great job posting all these videos.

The game shows a ton of potential.

Just watch everything going on, particularly the reaction from the dugout on the foul ball. VC has raised the bar with this game.
We must have watched different videos. I tought the crowd reaction after the RBI double sucked. Usually a play like that sends a home crowd into a frenzy, the reaction in the game was passive. And the fans didnt even stand up to anticipate the play at the plate.

What's getting on my nerves more and more is the ridiculous missing frame rate when the pitchers release the ball. This has me worried that there will be an overrall framerate issue in the game.

It's absurd that Jayson Werth still has a generic stance. I thought it was cool that MLB 09 has his signature style.

Anyway...

Personally, I feel every Phillie projected to start should have his signature style. After all, they are the world champs.

Not sure what you saw but.......................
It may not be absolutely freakin perfect but it's light years better than the last few versions of 2k baseball. You do the worrying, I'll be happy that VC looks to have made a very good game this year from what we have witnessed so far. Hopefully more videos will come out to rid you of your fears...........I for one am very excited about this game.

I also realized that it's the bottom of the first inning. I mean maybe I'm out of touch with baseball fans reactions but why would they be jumping up and down and in a "frenzy" and going crazy so early in the game on a double. They cheered loud and that's all that is needed in that situation IMO. I think without looking at the video as a whole, people are reacting and not putting the crowd reaction in it's proper context with the situation of each video we have seen.
