False. I primarily use wrestlers and can do work on skilled BJJ guys.

When comes to fight Mir, I tend to pick fighters with high ground striking offense decent grapple defense like Cain Valasquez (sic?), take them down, sit in guard and just pound away. The key is not letting them (or any BJJ guy) get into rubber guard.

adding on to what noble said,

you have to pick guys with a great submission defense and striking game.

you have to study your fighters, you cant just pick anybody.

i love to pick kenny florian from the lightweights.

i suggest you pick him if you know how to use him.he's a great figter.

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed: Pre-Fight Strategy

my approach is based soley on the opponents scouting report / record compared with who I'm using. if I see the person does not have a lot of wins via submission, I may aim to submit him. Ultimately, it depends on the strengths of my fighter. if I am using cro cop, I am gonna aim to KO with a kick. Jon Fitch, submit. W. Silva, clinch strikes. of course, if it goes to the ground game, I'm aiming to mount.

Well, i wish we played on the same console.

Seriously, if you pick a wrestler you better be good at the flick for reversals and use a guy with good grappling O and D. You also gotta hope for no lag.

BJJ is so good because you have reversals as sig transitions(LB or L1 + quater circle) from side control D, half guard D, mount D and a major transition to full mount from RG. I'm not even counting the submission advantage.

I can hang with a good BJJ player online, but i'm not going to the ground unless i can get a slam from the clinch to side control and go straight to mount with a sig transition. If you try anything else you're asking for trouble against a good player. He's either going to reverse you or get you in a sub eventually. If you can take him down near the cage and get to full posture that's not a bad idea, but it's still risky depending on your stamina and sub D.

if you're in rubber guard you should just do a minor transition and get to full mount. from there you can try to do some GNP or if you're not comfortable, just stand back up
