Major League Baseball 2K10: MLB Developer Insights - My Player, Part II

2K Sports has posted another Major League Baseball 2K10 Developer Insight. This is part II detailing My Player mode.

Quote:
"You will see two very cool things that happen right away once you are in the Majors: Key Games and Clutch Moments. If you are simming on the Schedule, we will drop you into the important games and the clutch moments that you are involved in. This way, you can play through your full 15 year career without having to feel like you might miss any of the vital events of your player’s career in simmed games. As an added bonus, skill points earned in Key Games and Clutch Moments will be worth more than skill points earned in regular games."
Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3

Re: New Insight: My Player part II

My Player looks pretty damn good. A good first effort and I am sure that it will only get better.

Re: New Insight: My Player part II

Aside from my gripe bout team goals, I have no issues. In fact, I really love some of the touches they have for My Player. I REALLY like the key moments sim options and the ability to have say-so in your team's FA decisions and picking your lineup spot once you have enough status.

This sounds like it should be a very fun mode!

I like the idea of changing sliders and cpu trades in "My Player" mode. I also like being able to change what spot you hit in once you get to a certain level.

Asking for a trade and being able to tell the GM who you want on your team is also pretty bad ***.

Great stuff 2k. Now, lets hope it all plays well without any major glitches. Even if there are some (which I know will happen) lets hope they can address them. This is the first year they are doing this but, it really looks like they're on the right track.

Definitely. This obviously isn't some tossed in mode or a cheap copycat. It appears to be a very full-featured mode with a lot to offer. I look forward to trying it out.

Is it a maximum of 15 years in a career? That's kinda weak. Especially if you start at age 18. You'll have to retire at 33. Hopefully that's not the case.

They stated 15 years in chases interview with the developers I believe. Kind of a bummer, but could be worse I guess.
