A few other things worth mentioning; full gameplay sliders are available within the mode, you can turn CPU trading on/off in the mode, along with getting trade and injury notifications for your organization. You can make and play in the Futures Game with your player when you are in the Minors and you can also make and play in the All Star Game and Home Run Derby once you are in the Majors.
All of this made me happy.

That's an interesting point. It's not a BIG deal but still interesting.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but it says on 2K site:

"NEXT MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2K10 DEVELOPER INSIGHT: Fielding by Jonathan Rivera - Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010"

Maybe the max years in the MLB can be modded by the community.

Hope so... 15 years just isn't long enough.

wonder what the average MLB player's career is? 5-6 years maybe?

So you're saying that you'd have to consistently be one of the best players of all-time to break an all-time record? How disappointing.

I think what he's saying is that it's impossible for a player to hit 50+ HRs every year of their MLB career. Ya know ? Also, he's sayin' 15 years isn't enough years to allow anyone to break any career records unless you do what's literally impossible.
