Madden NFL 11 Makes Co-Op Online Football Fun w/ Video (IGN)

IGN has posted some hands-on impressions of the recently announced online co-op mode in Madden NFL 11.

Quote:
"I spent a good bit of time with Online Team Play in Madden NFL 11, and while I didn't earn any of the boosts in my single game (I blame my co-op partner), I still had a blast playing the redesigned mode. It's miles better than last year's effort, and it finally seems like EA Sports has given players a reason to play together online as opposed to against one another. I will admit that playing as the quarterback is still the most fun of the offensives positions, but they've done a decent job of giving other players things to do (outside of playcalling, which will still be a little boring for those not playing as QB)."
Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3

Well both of us put it up. I guess it doesn't matter which one is used. We will let the mods deside. But good job anyway.

-I like the camera

-Adrian Petersons straight line running looked really good near the end of the vid(still done like the skating)

-from the little i heard i dont like they way they implemented gus johnson, it probably isnt final so im not going to worry about that now

I like Gus a lot but there still needs to be a bit more commentary. He's silent until after the snap..
We need a bit of "Favre hands off to Peterson, he's gonna bounce it outside.." etc

Re: New interview/footage at ign

I can't believe the managed to turn Gus Johnson into Tom Hammond. That commentary is horrible, too much dead space. The game needs banter. Yuck.

He finishes the 'He's gonna pass' commentary as the ball is caught. That line should only be used on a play fake, or triggered immediately after 'they hike the ball, and he's gonna pass', though I wouldn't say it that even as it's not natural.

Says they tuned the cameras where 'everybody is happy'. Does that mean a customizable camera finally?

Agreed the guys don't sound like they're watching a game but taking turns reading a script, it just doesn't come off as sounding like natural commentary.

The atmosphere needs to be boosted up to nbalive's level.
