Translating the Best Japanese Baseball Games into English (Spirits Translation)

Not many Americans know about Pro Yakyuu Spirits Baseball. Why? Because it's a Japanese baseball game and a lot of people are too lazy to weed through the menus to get a game going. Based on feedback from our Baseball (Other) Forum, the series is the best, baseball has to offer. Check out the new Spirits Translation website, which translates the Japanese text in the game, into English. If you are patient, you will be surprised at just how deep this game is.

Quote:
"The purpose of this site is to help English speakers play one of the best baseball games ever made - Pro Yakyuu Spirits Baseball! The game is programmed to display mostly Japanese text and Kanji characters, but no worries you can learn to play the game quickly by following the instructions here. Not only do we offer translations, but you'll also find tips, advice and tutorials to get you up to speed. This website covers the current version (PYS 2010) but in the future we plan on adding PYS 6 which has the 'World Baseball Classic' mode which comes with US players.

This is a BIG game with lots modes, settings and things to do. Translating every word would be a daunting and most likely an impossible task. The main goal here is to show you how to understand each mode of play and I think we accomplished that with flying colors. Anyone can now play this game, the barriers of entry are officially gone!"

Re: Translating the Best Japanese Baseball Games into English (Spirits Translation)

A million thanks to steve for plugging our site!

To all the hardcore baseball gamers out there, if you are looking for a deep, polished sim title out there to accompany The Show (and you are tired of waiting for 2K to get it right), this is the perfect game for you. If you have played Power Pro before, imagine the Power Pro gameplay turned full blown sim with life-like physics (especially on the bat-to-ball contact) and graphics.

We took 3 months to take each picture and write each paragraph with care and there is so much content that it may be impossible to read everything in 1 sitting...so bookmark us and come back whenever you are bored! Hopefully once you go through some of our pages you will be tempted to try out the game too!

I wish they had an updated version for XBOX 360...the game looks pretty sweet...once again the baseball options for XBOX 360 are found wanting

Re: Translating the Best Japanese Baseball Games into English (Spirits Translation)

Some may be lazy, but the other is that some want an MLB game. So I'm sure customization has been discussed about this game at length in other forums/threads. Why wouldn't the developer/producer recognize the American/English speaking community and make a version that is immediately comprehended?
