I do like the rest of 2K10 besides the other problems you mentioned. I think VC did a pretty good job and I think they will keep improving it this year. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
That's the bigger issue: the CPU scores their runs on home runs but they don't hit home runs.

It was definitely too easy to dominate from the mound. That's where I gave up on this game. It wasn't a glaring glitch or broken code. It was just that I was tired of winning games 5-1 or something like that.

I hope so as well.. We shall see what VC is capable of doing in 2 and a half years of development.

Re: MLB 2K11 Release Date Set For March 8th, 2011

I love a lot of 2K10 except in batting. I'll name my issues again, all which no one else seems to have or worry about:

1) Camera options. It's not that we don't have a lot of options, it's that the options are terrible. My favorite one is Batter 1 with height and zoom at 7 (I believe that's what they are), but the batter is still so far away from the camera itself that the ball never quite "comes at you" enough to judge what it's doing. Don't even get me started on those other two, dumb camera options that are set like World Series Baseball on SEGA and a third of the screen shows the dirt behind the batter. Give me one like MLB 2K8, and things will start shaping up nicely there.

2) Holy mother lagger! This is the most unresponsive swinging system I have ever seen, in any video game! I can blame this on my HDTV all I want, but I have zero issues with pitching in the same exact game, let alone swinging on any other game like The Show, etc. Yes there is natural HDTV lag (and as far as HDTV's go it's actually pretty bad), but this is dreadful. It's not just lag, it's lack of input response. No one else seems to have this issue, I'm not sure why I'm the only one who has it.

3) Check swing system. Again, dreadful. I have to double-tap X at nearly the speed of light to even hold up my check-swing, let alone check it at all or determine whether I would have wanted to in the first place based on how early I have to swing because of the hideous response time.

Combined with directional hitting, the swinging aspect of this game is a complete crapshoot.

As a gamer in the UK I have to import my baseball games. That means I have to buy for the PS3 because of the regional coding on the 360. MLB the Show is a must buy but I'm tempted to take a look at MLB 2K11. The trouble is 2K's titles always look poor on the PS3.
I'm holidaying in Florida in April so I might pop to a Gamestop & have a look at the game.

Can you not import a 360 from here? Can't be too expensive, probably cheaper then buying a PS3 where you are.

This better be a completed game, I'm tired of hearing "we'll fix it next year" like the past two iterations.

Re: MLB 2K11 Release Date Set For March 8th, 2011

I like a lot about this game but let's be honest. The SHows success will never allow this game to be established.

I think that once the deal is up in 2012 with MLB, all other outlets will make a baseball game.

I would love to see what EA does with MVP or other companies bring to the table.

But there are things about this series that I wish the show had.

To me the Show last year was MLB 9.5 instead of MLB 10

It was basically the same game with the broken fielding and no new feature

MLB 2k had great pitching mechanics and even though the fielding and hitting were suspect. It showed promise.

Hope that they come through and tie up the gameplay more then anything else.

I hate the batting camera angles too. You would think with all those options, one could find one that suits them.. I didn't.

The check swing system is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I use classic controls and honestly, I never could check my swing unless it was by accident. I did it a couple times and I was like.. I don't understand why they made it like that cause in real life, it isn't hard to check your swing. It's difficult to check your swing and not break the front of the plate, but still, the way they implemented it is very unnatural.
