Backbreaker Vengeance Hands-On Preview: Tackle Alley

I recently had a chance to play the Tackle Alley mode in Backbreaker Vengeance. It's not 11 on 11, instead it's basically one on many.

The object is to get your player to the end zone and rack up as many points as you can while getting there. However, it's not as easy as it sounds because there are many obstacles in the way. Not only do you have defensive players trying to tackle you, there are also obstacles to jump over, go through or around. While the sidelines on the field are present, there are also red-marked boundaries you can not touch. If you do touch these boundaries, the game marks your player out of bounds, and you have to start over.

Can't wait to see if they will open up franchise/dynasty mode for us to really enjoy. Hopefully they will introduce more camera angles as well.

@deebo2246 I believe the only thing this game has is the tackle alley thing. It's an Arcade game that you download from XBL or PSN.

it seems that this is what this game has finalized into.

It's a shame because they had willing customers wanting to pay for another football game.

I think the issue was that as a Non-American Developer, there lacked the expectations we place on our football games.
Especially on these Next-Gen systems.

They had an idea about how to introduce their product in the Football genre, but it was not in a manner that the gamers wanted.
They should've hit the gamming communtiy hard to find out what they wanted in a Football game and built from that data gathered.

What was found out, is that this is "The One Sport" you can't toy around with.
You can't try and introduce new perspectives and ideas that are contrary to what we've grown up playing and see on TV.

Your concepts can't stray away from the basic principles of Football.

You just can't do it with this sport at this point in time were YouTube videos are notating any and every issue that is not consistant with "Realism" and "Authentic".

They have the Physics Engine to build upon if they choose, but everything else must be scrapped as it is not a perspective of American Football gamers are willing to play from.

It will be sad if this turns out to be the end of the first Physics base attempt on Next-Gen Football!!!

Yes, it seems to be the end of this series which had a lot of potential. It seems there is hope this game is as successful as tackle alley on the mobile platforms, however I assure you, it will not be.

I am not interested in this.

I doubt this is the end for Backbreaker. The devs have dropped hints that another full version is in the works.

I hope this is correct. The first one was VERY close to being a great game. The needed to find a middle ground between Greathouse and the Original Game.
