What improvements have been made to the AI?

This year a new system has been put in place to enable the AI to consider and act upon several things at once. Last year we had difficulties making the AI competitive on the hardest difficulty but this year… well… they are fast!

Have the long waits in the pits been fixed?

Yes, fixed! Entirely new pit system was implemented after we reviewed last years work.
Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3 / PC

Spectator mode is gonna be awesome I daresay, on the other hand I'm disappointed by the lack of in game saves.

We considered the podium but that’s been done to death in Formula One games so, for this year, we’ve included Parc Ferme which is more immediate and personal.
There's a reason it's been "done to death". The podium celebration is a big part of each F1 race. Including it in a game is important IMO.

But overall, I'm pretty excited for this game. I finally got a wheel (DFGT) for my PS3 and can't wait for F1 2011 to hit the shelves. Anyone wanna consider playing a co-op championship?

Bahnzo, I am over on the Western Slope, I would love to do a co-op championship. I work ALOT so I might not be your best choice. But if there is no-one else keep me in mind.

We could give it a go. I'd assume that you could have more than one co-op save, so we could do it when you are around. Just send me a FR on PSN sometime and we'll give it a try.

A thorough interview covering a wide range of aspects. Spectator mode is a good addition.
The bit about the podium sequences being 'done to death' is crazy. The podium sequence is all part of a GP event. As much as the pit stops are part of the race strategy.

I pre-ordered last years games, and the pit stops were/are ridiculous. I have no idea how they could have released a game with that big of a flaw. Even though they fixed that problem I don't think i will be getting this years game, unless its on sale. I want to see the game have more depth, and have the tracks change season to season like they do in the real f1 schedule does. They need to include all the f1 maps and not just the ones for the current season.
