OS Tip of the Day: The First Tricks Matter in SSX

Trick huge early, see massive scores later!

The first 20 tricks matter most

On your run, the first tricks you pull need to be as clean as possible. The higher you can get your tricks multiplier in the beginning stages of your run, the higher your score will be.

While combos with a x5 multiplier are typically not worth a million points -- just watch what x20 will do for even the most pedestrian of combos. You can routinely pull off five trick combos for one million points without much trouble.

So of course, having a x20 multiplier through more of your run would be the most ideal situation for getting huge scores. Concentrate early and deliver big scores!

What are the things you do early in your run to boost the trick multipler up?

Pretty sure I own you at this game, so why are you giving advice?

As for what I do? I look at your scores, laugh, then beat them. That's my strategy.

Unfortunately for you, I seem to recall plenty of tracks where I hold the advantage. At least half dear boy, at least.

Unless you've put in work since I retired, you don't even hold a candle to me on many of the tracks I own.

I noticed a few of those and went back and played them. I played a lot of them once for the review and my scores sucked. Now, I've passed you on a lot of them after playing through them again.

There was one score I def. can't beat though. Tried it a few times and I just didn't get how your score was so high. Must've had a 120 trick combo or something at a 20x multiplier haha!

Re: OS Tip of the Day: The First Tricks Matter in SSX

I just wanted to say (kind of on this topic), that I still cannot figure out how people get these crazy trick scores.

I almost always finish my runs keeping my tricky meter full the entire run, never breaking my combo, and tricking off damn near everything while never duplicating tricks. Yet, I still very rarely crack the diamond bracket, and when I do it's just barely.
