Like someone else said, I am sure a big hit is due to the new systems.

While I do hope that there is another NFL game that gets made eventually, I am enjoying this game.

Cool Re: Madden Sales Down Significantly This Year

Truth is that we have no idea why 650,000 fewer people bought M25 this year as compared to last. I'm sure some are waiting for NextGen but IIRC when the 360 came out most people bought BOTH. I don't recall there being a big sales drop off for original xbox at that time.

I've been wondering about this for weeks. The forums seemed awfully slow to me for August/September and I've been wondering why. IMHO, if NextGen M25 doesn't just blow people away then it will be 2 consecutive platform launches where EA failed to impress. The 1st Madden on 360 was one of the worst ever.

I'm laughing at these posts but the numbers don't lie I guess.

100s of teenagers all over the world will be getting XBOXone or PS4 for the Holidays.

Parents aren't going to buy their kids a game, before they get them the game.

I honestly think that is the main reason for these numbers.

There wasn't a huge drop off, but that was a different time and era. That system was only out for 4 years. A lot of people may have thought why give up so soon? Madden 06's numbers first week were 1.7 million.

That was also coming off of the best Madden of all-time, though. And the first year without competition.

Is this really true though?

I mean, how many next gen consoles are going to be in North American homes this winter? A couple million?

Are they all going to be Madden owners? I don't know about that.

It's ironic because this is the best (and really the only playable) Madden released for this gen. Personally I'm pretty happy with the game. Yes the controls still feel laggy and unresponsive but I'm learning to live with it and enjoy it for what it is.

Madden 10 was the best. Madden 25 is a buggy mess.
