FIFA Manager Series Canned

FIFA Manager founder and designer Gerald Köhler has stated FIFA Manager 14 will be the last game from the series. He took the time to thank all of the fans and explain why the series will have to end.

Quote:
The football manager genre at this level of sophistication is highly specialised and primarily played in two countries (England and Germany), in which – on top of everything – one game has practically dominated the market in recent years. The niche market and general trend toward online and mobile games were also contributing factors. Moreover, FM had reached a crossroads at which a new engine and/or corresponding online technology would be the only way to give the series a boost. When all these factors were evaluated, it led us to the decision to blow the final whistle.

Absolutely no surprise here. There is a titan in this space and there isn't room for anyone else.

Hip, hip, HUZZAH!

If this means EA will stop giving us a watered down Career Mode with half-arsed features like the Global Transfer Network, then I applaud this 110%.

We need a Manager game on consoles. I used to love playing LMA Manager back in the day. Yeah, FM is the king, but it's not a console game

Agreed! They need to roll features from this into FIFA's career mode and create one stellar game experience instead of trying to get us to pay for two half-assed ones!

Re: FIFA Manager Series Canned

Sad for all the FIFA manager players but I'm fine with just manager mode on FIFA 14. I'm not a hardcore manager or anything, I just like to scout players and sign new talent and then play matched with my upgraded team. So fortunately for me, I won't be missing this series.
