Not only is Arrieta dominating the mound in the real game -- he's actually doing so by putting up numbers which would make many playing a Road To The Show career pause for a second and ask, "Should I bump up the difficulty?"

Clayton Kershaw is rated higher than Arrieta at a 99 overall. Max Scherzer and Zack Greinke are both alongside Arrieta at 95 overall.

As hot as Arrieta is though, it makes you wonder should he actually be rated higher? Perhaps all the way to a 99 overall?

What do you think? Should Arrieta get an upgrade? Have you ever gone on a streak quite like Arrieta's over his past 17 starts?
I hate the new animation for post-throw hand poses. Looks terrible.

I've been calling Jake "Easy Mode" since the middle of last season

Let's hope for a ratings boost in a future weekly update.

I assume Arrieta's overall isn't 99 because as SDS has stated there ratings are an aggregate of the past three years. I would not be surprised if he is a 99 in MLB 17.

Only if the O's stuck with him. Le sigh.

He deserves a 99 based off of his NLCS performance for sure.

I feel for you there, man. There have been plenty of players that have left the Cubs and gone on to become much better in another place. However, Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio is amazing, and has made a career of getting guys to change how they pitch slightly, turning guys who had been busts somewhere else into really good pitchers for Chicago.

Arrieta is the crown jewel, but he made Jeff Samardzija a much better pitcher, and developed Travis Wood, got one of the best seasons of Ryan Dempster's career out of him before the team traded him away, and has gotten the most out of numerous relievers that other teams have given up on, including Cubs closer Hector Rondon.

The point is that Jake may have never become what he is had he stayed in Baltimore, no matter how long they gave him.
