Free Update Adds New Character To Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Stuck

A free update to the PC version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has increased the game's roster to 28 drivers by adding General Winter, a tank-driving Soviet from SEGA's real-time strategy game, Company of Heroes 2.

General Winter joins Football Manager, Team Fortress and Shogun from Shogun: Total War as the fourth PC-exclusive character in SEGA's superb kart racer.

Other benefits of the finely tuned PC port, which received an 8/10 from Operation Sports, include a faster framerate (60 FPS), higher resolution (1080p), higher-detail textures plus advanced lighting and shadow effects.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed retails for $30 on the PC, though it has regularly gone on sale for half as much. Numerous console and handheld ports are available (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, iOS), though their graphical quality and character selection remain inferior to the PC edition.

SEGA has not changed the price of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed's paid downloadable content, continuing to offer Metal Sonic and an OutRun-themed course together for $2.99.
