We have just posted our 2006 Operation Sports Year End Awards. A very big thank you to Clay Shaver for putting this together once again!
"And they said it wouldn’t last…

Welcome to the 5th Annual Operation Sports Year End Awards celebrating the best the sports gaming industry had to offer in 2006. Once again, the Staff at OperationSports.com has gotten together to award our “Stevie” to best and brightest from this calendar year. Like ‘em or hate ‘em, we looked at everything from ’06 and came up with this prestigious list."

Madden as most improved? They may have made improvements but it is not worth noting when you from awful to crap.

Have to agree 100% with Clay on the NCAA Football quote. Good move by them to make the Ps2 and Xbox games deeper.

Good stuff guys! The Stevie's live on!

Very good as usual, and I can certainly agree with every choice, though I would've had r6 be the non-sports game of the year. Probably just because I wasn't a fan of Gears.

You're just saying that because you can't snipe effectively in Gears.

I don't even use a sniper in Rainbow Six and yet I think that game is one of the best I've ever played so I think that cancels out that arguement.

The "Game of the Year" is the second best baseball game relased in 06...interesting decision (MVP/NCAA was better). Maybe I'm biased towards college games, but I think NCAA Football deserved it.

Nice job. Agree with it all, except like sniper said, RB6 is the best NSG, easily. I've logged more hours on that game then any game in a long time, without even touching single player.

I'm almost tempted to go and pick up a PS2 to give MLB The Show a spin. Then again, they actually had Wii's at Best Buy yesterday

Given that this is the last year it likely would have applied, I would have liked to have seen a little more content on the variety of platforms out there, like Best of Old Gen, Best of New, but this was a nifty enough read

I wonder if this wouldn't be a good time, now that even OS is mostly reviewing only Next Gen titles by and large, to do a "Best of the Last Gen" in all sport catagories. I'm not one who believes that the latest versions of all games is necessarily the greatest and this might be the time where we consider what the PS2 and plain ol' Xbox have wrought as sporting legacies. It'd be interesting to see where the staff here puts that volume of games in perspective and where the good membership evaluates that portfolio as well

Have fun..................

That was all Clay, I had nothing to do with it. I just set up the OS members polls.

I know that, but it took both you guys to get this done. One guy worked on the front end of things while the other on the back end.

I'm pretty sure these and the things EG set up are different.

These are the staff awards, and EG's polls were for the members awards. Think that is what he was saying
