NBA Live 09 Cover Athlete is Tony Parker

The official announcement isn't until tomorrow, but Kotaku has received a video from GameCinemaHD, showcasing the French phenomenon as the cover athlete for the next version of NBA Live. The video showcases some of Parker's moves and his various accolades -- oddly enough being married to Eva Longoria is left out, but I consider that an accolade as well.

Are you guys surprised that Parker was picked as the cover athlete?

Due to my immense hatred of Tony Parker and the fact that KG has more of a mid-range game, I am going to print out my own cover if I end up buying this.

I was surprised when I saw this in the morning. Parker is a great player but I don't know if he fits cover athlete role.

ROTFLMAO!! Didnt they already have Parker as the coverboy for the French version of 08 or 07? I think him and Gasol are doing the international versions of the covers again this year, because if not 2k really needs to look out for the buyout soon because Live will not be beat in the cover athlete category also aside from everything else being inferior to 2k. For Live's sake I am still holding out for a Lebron Or Pierce cover tomorrow.

I'm buying Live 09 because I see a huge upside coming from last year to this (I own 08 and 2k8)

but DAMN.... KG trumps TP on the cover by about 120 points.

terrible choice IMO, I know Ton is a freat player, but they could have did better. Weak choice.

I guess this means EA signed ABC/ESPN to a deal so that after every Tony Parker bucket or sweet dish they will cut to Eva Longoria in the crowd, in full high-res form.

I guess EA didn't get the memo, no one likes San Antonio anymore and damn sure not Tony Freak'n Parker.

Damn! First 2k with that lame choice of KG. And now EA's beyond poor choice of Tony Parker. Definitely Custom Covers for me this year! Just keep the Start Menu Blank I don't want to see Tony Parker on it.

Haha, what a terrible choice, especially considering that 2K got KG. By my count, Tony is hated by many American NBA fans for the following reasons:

1) He is French
2) He is screwing Eva Longoria
3) He flops
4) He's a member of the Spurs
5) He has a crappy rap career
6) His eyebrows bring back terrible childhood trauma relating to Gargamel's unrelenting attacks on Smurf Village
