Madden 2010 News Post

Peter Moore has posted the first screenshot of Madden NFL 10.

"While we have a number of announcements and updates to come over the next several weeks leading up to next month's NFL Draft, I'm excited to debut the first screenshot from this year's game right here this week. The old adage says, "A picture is worth a thousand words", and that is certainly true in this fantastic shot. How many improvements can you pick out? The Madden dev team will call each one out in their blog later this week."

Does it have anything to do with how Ben holds the ball? I know many QBs hold them in the calssic form using the laces, but I was watching ESPN and they were talking last year how some QBs are using new ways to hold the ball to help with their release. The old ways of playing football are always being looked at and improved. For example the DB videos talking about the draft step over the T step adn such.

I just noticed another detail, Big Ben is wearing a schutt helmet and in actuality he wears a riddell helmet. Nice job guys!!!!!!!!!!

I do think he looks a little lean for a larger QB. In a future blog I would like to see some side by side comparison shots of real life players/ madden models to see what they've done.
Agreed on this one, that QB is about 20 LBs shy of Big Ben....

Is the procederal awarness being used with the Refs? Also, can someone tell me what the camera is showing in terms of view. Is it a overhead look, a view like a user control view, or sideline?

no, that's the other part of the chin strap.

From top to botom you should se top chin strap, clip that holds facemask in place and then bottom of chin strap.

It's been pointed out I think but the part of the chain gang on the far left of the picture is moving.

Even if they were in the game they wouldn't be on that section of the sideline.

Is that blue box on the sidelines the official replay booth or just a shipping box?

Neither... I've seen them before but can't seem to think of what it is... I think it's the box that all the headsets and other communication equipment is hooked up too.

Ok, I'll ask it...

Refs, chain gangs, new OL/DL interaction...did these make it in NCAA Football 10?

I could kind of understand if they left out refs and chain gang, but OL/DL interaction is a must.
