Madden 2010 News Post

Gamestop has posted their Monday blog on Madden NFL 10.

Quote:
"Playing quarterback in Madden NFL 10 now has this whole new wrinkle of strategy that has never existed in franchise history — you actually have find open passing lanes. We added accurate QB throwing styles to this year's game as well; so you have to be careful with the guys like Rivers and Romo that have a lower release as they can get their passes batted down more often. This addition also makes height relevant for the very first time — guys like Manning and Roethlisberger that tower in the pocket back there and have a high release have much less of a problem dealing with the linemen in front of them, where you have to do a lot more thinking with a guy like Garcia."

Sounds cool. Another nice little touch that will go a long way for realism.

Ouch. "Dear Matt Stafford: You were just mistaken for Jeff Garcia. My condolences."

Ha ha.

At least Stafford won't be "one and done" in Detroit like Garcia was.

Good read though.

Ah Detroit: Where football players go to die.

This sounds awsome if they get it done right. I use an DE usually and that will be a nice little weapon that we can use to mess with the QB. Like it!

Good example video for you guys that I captured real quick:

Righteous. That was nice, sir. That feels SOO much better than watching a blocked pass slam into the ground, with the thought of "well, that play is over." Now, it could be panic time if I see a tipped pass.

Nice little addition with potentially big effects.

Sorry, these aren't necessarily easy to capture.

I've got some other important stuff to do - maybe once we finish the game I can take video requests like this.

Lets wait until Stafford throws for over 4,000 and 30 TDs and has a playoff win after being down by 20+ before we start giving him condolences for comparisons to Garcia, eh? Garcia's done that.

I meant more in the height department. I would never take away from a man's accomplishments. Although now that I look it up, Stafford isn't much taller. So, my bad.

While we're at it, can you clone John Elway at the age of 27? Broncos Country would appreciate it.

This is awesome!! This is actually something I requested in last years wishlist thread.

2 Questions:
1. Does the ball deflect to different spots on the field? By that I mean does it always drop like 2 feet behind the lineman or can it sometimes go 5 or 10 yards down field, and to the left and right.

2. Also does how high and how long it floats vary? Or does it always look like it does in that you tube clip.

Thanks!
