I pretty much agree with the rankings but I cringe everytime I see a 99...

whats wrong with a 95 being the the highest...At 99, their's 0 room for improvement and not much of a regress

S.Alexander, sure he was a "99" one year the next year when he had a terrible year, I wouldnt rate him a 89(assuming he'd regress 10 points) a 85 would be better or even 75(assuming he regressed another 10 points) looks better than 79

/end pet peeve

O yeah but don't get me wrong, Benson had a GREAT comeback year last season, but, since most people here on OS don't recognize him as an elite back they would riot if he was rated higher than some of their favorite players.

I personally don't care about ratings, they mean nothing in the game anyway. I agree with you though, Benson went off last year.

Now Atlanta Falcon Back up FS Giordano was on the Packers roster last year.... and he still has his 91 speed rating..... and at no time during anything I witnessed during last season, was he even close to Collins in the speed department.

When Giordano was with the Colts the media said he was second fastest on the team, Giordano can fly.

Yeah that and the fact the M Turner is higher than benson and he had less than 900 yards. Was 19th in the leauge in rushing. WTF? lol

I'll co-sign that. When Chris Henry went down, the Bengals were pretty much one dimesional. Week after week, everyone knew what was coming and he still couldn't be stopped. Save those two, three games he missed and he would have been right behind Johnson for the league lead in yards.

Good to see Hall, Joseph and Bobbie Williams get a little love, but where's Whitworth?

Oh well, like I said in another post, rating as they're done here seem antiquated. I like to look deeper than just overalls.

imo, a 4.36 40 and then asking for a speed increase isnt homerism.

Nothing like a couple of alleged sexual assault incidents to drop a top QB from the ranks...Confusing how Roethlisberger isn't one of the top QB's....

lol thats because thats how college ball is many qbs in college can out run many lb's and de's but come to the nfl they are shutdown , the whole nfl is fast..I mean thats not a reason to give people the high ratings but still the nfl is fast like that compared to college not just certain positions are fast but many are.

# 89 CaliDude916 @ 06/22/10 04:23 PM
How the hell does Vernon Davis only have a 90 in speed? I'll just raise it when I get the game.

# 90 alifeincomplete @ 06/22/10 04:24 PM
Why no love for Wes Welker?

# 91 dabeavs541 @ 06/22/10 04:52 PM
Not to bash Welker or anything but it doesnt hurt that Randy Moss is on the other side. Wouldn't be suprised if he is in the high 80's, but I dont think he is better than the 10 mentioned.

# 92 dabeavs541 @ 06/22/10 04:54 PM
8 mentioned. sorry.

# 93 nhiverson @ 06/22/10 05:10 PM
I think Jones-Drew is rated fine he had 3 less td's then Peterson but everything else was pretty close and Peterson fumbled 6 times to Drews 2.
I do think Ray Rice should be up there abit more though.

His yards total was inflated by the fact that he ran so frequently. He had three 35 run attempt games and a further three 27+ attempt games. To put that in perspective, Adrian Peterson didn't have a single 27+ attempt game all season, Benson had 6.

I also happen to think the Bengals Oline is a top 5 Oline in the league as shown by Larry Johnson and Bernard Scott (his backups) having a better average than Benson over the season and shining in the games that Benson missed.
If Benson reproduces this season then boost him up but you can't say he's that good after the first good season of his career.
Usually, backs that are high volume rushers have lower yards per carry. Peterson didn't play in a one dimesional offense. And when I say one dimensional, I am being kind to the Bengals. I watched every Bengal snap last season and after Henry went down, the offense was as predictable as it gets. Knowing they didn't have the protection to hold the ball and go deep, Marvin became content to get a lead and squeeze the air out of the ball.

Compare Peterson and Benson against common opponents. Top performance against divisional opponent included.

Peterson
GB - car. 25 yds. 97 ypc. 3.9
PIT - car. 18 yds. 69 ypc. 3.8
BAL - car. 22 yds. 143 ypc. 6.5
Chi - car. 24 yds. 94 ypc. 3.9
DET - car. 18 yds. 133 ypc. 7.4

Benson
GB - car. 29 yds. 141 ypc. 4.9
Pit - car. 17 yds. 76 ypc. 4.8
Bal - car. 27 yds. 120 ypc. 4.4 (first back to break Bal's 40 game streak of not allowing 100 yd. rushers)
Chi - car. 37 yds. 189 ypc. 5.1
Det - car. 36 yds. 110 ypc. 3.1

Add to that, Chris Henry went down 11/8 during the second Baltimore game. Up until that point, when the Bengals had that vertical threat Cedric's numbers look like this

car. 198 yds. yds. 837 ypc. 4.2 24 carries a game
Now extrapolate that over the course of a full seaon and you come up with:

car. 396 yds. 1674 that would have been good enough for #2 in the league

Not arguing that Peterson isn't an elite back, but Cedric Benson not even being in the top ten after a primetime performance like that?

# 95 Franchise-Star-21 @ 06/22/10 05:40 PM
Cedric Benson being in the top 10 infront of all those RB's is hilarious.

# 96 walliworld @ 06/22/10 05:45 PM
Exact same ratings as last roster update for Madden 10, with exception of Haynesworth, amazing EA!

# 97 Franchise-Star-21 @ 06/22/10 05:46 PM
Nick Collins not Having a AT LEAST 94 SPEED is also hilarious....This guy ran a 4.34/4.33 40 during his pro day At Bethune-Cookman... Its such a Joke how they do that... For example Patrick Willis is rated a 90 speed and there are a couple or LB's even LE's very close.....P-Willy is a BEAST But he is DEFINETLY NOT faster then Nick Collins ...This is a joke...When you compare NC's 89 speed to other positions it is actually just hilarious how dumb Donny Moore is.

# 98 Megatron2k7 @ 06/22/10 05:46 PM
I can't seem to find a video of Nick Collins catching up to Percy Harvin like I mentioned happed a few times when the opportunity presented itself....... most of what I was saying was just based off of memory from watching the game and I remember thinkng about the Madden ratings after I witnesed him catching up to him, and I thought that would be a good arguing point about Collins 89 speed rating.

Like I said, I couldn't find those exact instances on video.... but I found a nice Nick Collins highlight vid..... You can get some nice glimpses of his speed on some of his INT returns. Take a look if your interested.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IzDboGfUgk

note...... mature rated Emenem music on vid....... just thought I'd warn in case some are offended....

# 99 walliworld @ 06/22/10 05:48 PM
Woodson a 97? really...

# 100 Franchise-Star-21 @ 06/22/10 05:51 PM
Totally Agree....

^
If you watch ANY Packers games ,, you will see that any big play/run broken on the Pack D...Collins is constantly the last line..****n down after Run down

ex: Frank Gore , Beanie Wells, Larry Fitzgerald, Johnny Knox ...Off the top of my Head
