Anyone else think that although the 2K11 picture looks more like a human with regard to the facial features etc., the 2K10 picture actually resembles Halladay more?
This and the animations. I wouldn't have any problem if the players looked the same but the animations need work. Guys don't round the bases well at all and that is a fundamental animation in baseball. It looks herky jerky and is nowhere near as smooth as the Show. You watch the Show and it looks like baseball while 2K10 looks like a video game. The transition from one animation to another could use some work as well.
I do have high hopes for 2K11. I have a feeling that baseball fans will be really happy with both titles this year. Just a gut feeling.
I agree 100%. My main grip with mlb2k10 is the animations besides a few other things. They do need work. That's one area where the show is king. They're very smooth and life-like in the show. MLB2k still has animations from 2k6 which is bad. Like you said the running animations around the bases are horrendous. I also dislike the fielding animations. I don't know how true this is, but I was told by a mod at 2k that fielding was priority #1 for 2k11. Supposely fielding was completely redone. I hope it's true.

If it is true, that's some of the best news for this franchise since VC took over IMO.
I've never played it, but wasn't it the most beautiful game ever? And a little homer happy, but not like 2k8?
It was definitely on the right track. Looked far better than other 2K baseball games before and after (but was a choppy 30fps max). Not the best looking ever. The Show got those heads turned in '08 onwards.

Overall, yes, The Show looks better than 2K7 did. But man, those 2K7 player models (aside from the faces) were top notch and the cloth phsyics, though overdone, were great as well.

agreed. The faces left something to be desired, but the models themselves were great. The cloth physics were a great idea and it was nice to see the movement, but it was like every game was being played in gail force winds. LOL
Honestly, I think they look the same. The 2K11 shot is closer up and the 2K10 shot is from a distance. To me they look the same. Shocking that they put news out before The Show released anything...that's usually not the case is it?

Last year I passed on MLB 2K10 for a month or so, until the reviews came back mostly positive. This year I am not going to trust you guys...I'm going to pass. There is literally nothing 2K can do to win me back... The Show ftw!
You guys should know that games rarely drastically change from year to year. Yes this game could use a graphics upgrade, but it's not the end of the world if there's not.
I can't tell the difference other than the lighting and the beard.
2k7/8 where good but 2k9/10 were bad.
Last year the the 1st 2 weeks I was like wow this is great but then started noticing glitches/bad animations/bugs/roster issues(Edit Cap/Names not changing on jersey's etc.)
This year I'm leaning toward buying PS3 but gonna wait at least a month after both games are released before making a decision.
