Hmm...as an offline player, these changes don't really affect me much. I was hoping I could ace more - still haven't done one yet and I'm on level 10!

Is DLC nothing but a pipe dream for this game? Would love more pro players especially, but maybe some clothing as well. Mainly players though.

I'm having a problem in Career Mode which only seems to have occurred since installing the patch. I've just won a Grand Slam (Australian Open) and the Rome Masters, and none of the points have been applied to my Top Spin points. It's showing that I have 3,000 Season points as it should, but those 3,000 points should have also gone to my Top Spin points. It's so annoying because those points would have put me at No. 1 and given me Legend status, but now I'm stuck and can't progress any further.

Do you think it's patch related? Has anyone else come across this before?

Did you defend those titles or was this your first time winning them? Because if you won them the season before and win them again, you gain no points in the TopSpin ranking. You only gain points when you improve your results in an event from one year to another.

Ah, I think that explains it then. I was definitely defending the Australian Open but I'm not so sure about Rome. I'm pretty sure I won in Rome 2 or 3 seasons ago, but that was the last time I played it. Does that count as the same thing even if it wasn't the previous season?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated! I'll try a tournament I haven't won before and see how it goes.

I assume they act the same way real tennis goes. You play a tournament, then those points come off the following year. So say you played a 1-star tournament in January 2011, and then the Australian Open in January 2012. You win both. Those points in January '11 come off, but you add on the AO points. If you play a tournament in February '11 and then skip February '12, your ranking will go down (unless you are that far ahead of the people around you).

In real life, that is while Djokovic is gaining so quickly on Nadal. Yes, he's winning, but he is also defending a lot less points than Nadal. Even if Nadal wins every tournament from now until Wimbledon, I am pretty sure Djokovic can still become #1 if he got to the finals of those tournaments since he is defending less points.

That's what I was alluding to in my post. Thanks for expressing it a little more clearly than I could.

Well it seems easy is just right. Might enjoy this one. They just kinda stand there on very easy.
Did you do the Top Spin Academy tutorial? It actually helps a lot with the timing and such.

After 2-3 full games you'll feel comfortable with these controls.Hopefully, in Top Spin 5 we'll see an alternate control scheme as a second option where aiming will be done with the RS (pretty much like Rockstar's Table Tennis controls).

Well if you think that is hard, it is a lot tougher executing it on a real court...lol.

It takes some practice, but the controls are actually pretty good once you get the hang of it.

Does anyone get the feeling that it's harder to place wider shots? My baseline shots have all gone closer to the center...man I was relying on these to crush the others

I think this is seriously sports game of the year. I guess you could debate that The Show is up there too, but I have never played it (xbox owner).

Only thing this game is REALLY lacking is current WTA players. I want to be able to hit with Stosur, Clijsters, Sharapova, Venus Williams, Li Na, and others. Not only that but there should be pro tournaments offline and online for this game.

Hi,

I just purchased Top Spin 4 , after I played the ps3 demo I was hooked!

Just reading online about the game patches, and a lot of people are upset about the patch updates with issues with the gameplay after it. (Very long rallys etc)

Im considering not updating the game with the new patches because of this.

But should I update it? Any pros or cons with the update in terms of gameplay

Thanks
