Anybody think that the Titans safeties are overrated?

# 2 The GIGGAS @ 08/10/11 08:44 AM
As a homer, I feel like the Jags are underrated, but that's just me.

Titans SS Chris Hope is mad overrated at 87 overall.

Dude was awful last season and a major reason why the Titans were ranked 29th in the NFL against the pass.

Jake "The Snake" Locker

83 - Speed
87 - Acceleration
84 - Agility
95 - Throw Power
75 - Throw Short
77 - Throw Medium
83 - Throw Deep

Move over, Husselbutt! The Locker era begins August 30!

William Rackley is very underrated at 67 OVR. He is going back and forth with Spitz at the LG spot as to who is the starter.

Prosinski and Shorts I think are low because they weren't high profile players.

Austen Lane will see a nice upgrade as he is most likely going to be the starter at LE.

It's weird seeing Owens with the same rating as Jones at FB. I would like for the Special Teams ratings to get an overhaul next year so they can more accurately rate the players in that area.

Holy Hell Are those Lockers Ratings?!?!? and to think i was going to sit him my first yr in Franchise..F That idea.

Griffin is one of the best safeties in the league and the leader on defense. Hope being overrated eh if he was an 84 i wouldnt have been upset he did make some bad plays last year but there was a lot of miscommunication out there. hence the def coor getting the boot.

Locker should be much faster than VY

# 7 xpmar9x @ 08/10/11 10:48 AM
Jason Jones needs to be switched to DE.
Add Tommie Campbell (7th rd pick), likely to win #4 CB spot. 6'3 205, runs a 4.35.
Hasselbeck should be around a low 80.
Barrett Ruud should be a high 80.
Shaun Smith roughly a 75.
Graham a 72-75.

What I like:
CJ2K looks to be unstoppable (again).
Britt, Washington, Gage, Mariani all 70+ WRs.. giving some decent tagets. Mariani finally has some speed at 92-92-93.
Jared Cook is the unknown killer. 76 overall, 85 speed/89 acc. Should be a threat.
Lockers ratings. 74 overall, 83 speed, 87 acc, 95 TP, 74 ACC. Then 75 Short Acc, 77 Mid, 83 Deep, with 90 Throw on Run. I'd say those are nearly perfect for Lock.
Solid OL, 91 - 80 - 73- 83 - 91
Ringer. 88 speed, but 95 acc. Should be a decent #2 option for a couple carries a game.

Overrated:
--> Chris Hope. He's an 87, and is WAY to high. Should be about a 79, at best. AWR and every coverage stat should be decreased Hope always gets burned is coverage.
--> Dave Ball. Currently at an 81. Ball is good, but not that high, maybe a 75ish.

Underrated:
--> Damian Williams. He's likely to be the starting slot WR for the Titans, but is a 67 overall. Also has a 82 acceleration? He doesn't have top end speed, but is very quick starting up. Shhould be about 88 speed, 92 acceleration. He'll get boosted when he gets more playing time. Lavelle Hawkins is rated higher.
--> Gerald McRath. More specifically his speed. Ran the 2nd fastest LB 40 in his combine, behind Curry. But is only an 81 speed. Witherspoon is faster than him? No way. McRath should be a 85+ speed, 85+ acceleration.
--> Rennie Curran. He doesn't get a lot of playing time, but he's a BIG HITTER. His Hit Power should be increased to 85+ easily. Just watch out for him this year in special teams.
-> Fernado Velasco. Got some playing time last year, and did great. Only a 54? He's probably our BEST OL off the bench. Should be more in the 70 range.

Griffins ratings are perfect, but Hope is EXTREMELY overrated. He's the main reason the Titans Pass D sucked last year. Horrible in coverage & missed a ton of tackles. Though our old DC (Chuck Cecil), put him in a lot of 1v1 situations, where he shouldn't of been in the first place. Regardless, Hope should be about a 79 at MAX.

I was totally going to play with Hasselbeck, but not anymore. Those ratings are perfect for Locker. Not to mention an 80 Play Action & 90 Throw on the Run. Play-action bootlegs will be killer.

I find it funny that Kerry Collins strength is better than Lockers. lol

Seriously, the only person who got beat more than Chris Hope last season was Brandon Marshall's girlfriend.

Can't believe the Titans are paying Hope $6.5 million this season. Just speaks to their front office's ineptitude.

I think Gabbert's Short TAS is way to high. I know he played in a Pass-Spread O in College. He is TAS is a good as Shaub and better than Palmer, Big Ben, Cassell. 92 is way too high for a rookie.

# 12 Faizon @ 08/10/11 02:09 PM
Ahh yeah Locker's a beast and probably has really good potential too. Sorry Titans fans, he's coming to the Seahawks in my franchise

I think Gabbert also has high potential. I think Mallet also has high potential, since he has THA in the 80s. It seems like rookies will have high potential.
Since Mallet is basically coming in better than Henne, I will trade Henne for Mallet as a stop-gap for Andrew Luck.

Locker is going to be a beast in the game.. I'm sure he has an A potential too.. Definitely taking him in my Fantasy Draft OF if he's around when I start looking for a QB...

No way Locker should be that accurate.

# 16 Palo20 @ 08/10/11 03:07 PM
Almost all of Gabbert's throwing accuracy ratings are better than Garrard's. I thought him and Locker are supposed to be projects? They should be day 1 starters in user franchises.

Motell Owens is an 84 OVR FB, same as Greg Jones. Jones is one of the best FBs in the league, Owens is a special teams ace who never plays FB. Interesting OVR formula there.

Marcedes Lewis should have 90+ SPC (for the special animations). He always makes amazing catches down the seam.

Everything else looks pretty solid for the Jags.

Mallet can also start in users franchises(he will in my franchise). He comes in with 98 THP, 83 TAS, 84 TAM and PAC. Only thing that makes him lowly rated is his 41 AWR. He will be my starting QB for my Phins Franchise

NO! The Pats will not trade you Mallet!

Anyway, yeah, the rookie QBs seem fairly overrated in all of the ratings that matter when playing the game.

Although I know a lot of people claim that AWR does affect on field play for QBs so who knows?

I will trade Henne for Mallet. Heck I might even trade him back after I get Andrew Luck in the draft.
They are overatted, but it is only really the top 3(including Mallet). Dalton only high rated is TAS, all other are low.
AWR is a big factor, but if you are controlling them it isnt a factor
Using Mallet as a Starter and simming the season, there is a good chance for top pick

# 20 cha0ss0ldier @ 08/10/11 03:48 PM
Mike Thomas is better than a 79.

Montell Owens is a special teams beast but he is NOT as good as Greg Jones at FB.
