Now he is playing on bad knees whatever but that is where he was last year so his mid range is low. Some of yall are letting perception determine a rating. I know in 2010 pre injury he was a beast but you can't give him a rating of his pre injury stats makes no sense.
I say 2K base Tracy McGrady's rating on his 2002-2003 season!!!!!

LeBron's OVR should drop to a 45 as soon as the 4th quarter starts.

The 3pt ratings scale seems way to high this season.
Many players who are not 3pt shooters have as high or higher 3pt rating than their mid. completely misrepresenting reality and enticing an over abundance on 3pt shooting.

Until I get a chance to see how these numbers correlate to the gameplay and the simmed stats its too hard to tell how off these are. but my guess would be the scale will have to be dropped back to 2k11s.

I mean Westbrook is rated a point higher in 3pt shooting than mid?

First thing I do when I get this game on Tuesday is drop his rating to around a "realistic" 92 or 93 with clutch factor of ZERO!

I think a lot of people are assuming the rating scale is the same as last year but it doesn't appear to be the same. There is a Rashidi article that shows that there is a difference between last year to this year. I wouldn't compare mid to a 3pt because some people are better percentage wise from mid/3pt than close. Sounds weird but it happens.

Monta Ellis an 83? He had a better season then Stephen "83" Jackson... wtf. Ellis should be 85 or 86 IMO.

The OVR isn't a grading of your previous season, it's an index number of your skills.

If you look at the areas of volume scoring by both players, they're actually very evenly matched. In isolation, they're at 0.83 and 0.85 points per possession, and spot up they're at 0.95 and 1.01. Jackson is much better at converting on cuts and offensive rebounds, for example. The only area Monta is clearly ahead of Jackson is in the P&R.

On defense, Jackson is clearly better than Ellis across the board. Their overall stats is allowing a score in 37.3% of the possessions for Jackson and 41.8% in Ellis's case.

All in all, everything I can find indicates that their skills seen overall are pretty damn equal. Thus, their similar OVR is also quite justified.

I have an issue with certain MidRange Ratings but I wonder about the HOT & COLD zones.

MidRange 75 or better

Example: In 2k11, Billups, Douglas, Fields, Melo, Amare & Mason were players that were consistent jumpshot shooters.

In 2k12, it seems that I can only count on Douglas, Melo & Amare.

I wonder if Billups's 69 Mid Rating increases to 85 if he's in his HOT ZONE.
Same goes for Walker, S.Williams, Fields, Mason. Certain areas should increase, I hope.

Look, I understand Dirk isn't a shutdown post defender, but him being an 85 overall is criminal.

IS DIRK REALLY AN 85... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? CAN ANYONE SAY NBA FINALS MVP.. NOBODY COULD STOP HIM. NOT WADE, NOT LEBRON BOTH OF WHICH ARE RANKED HIGHER? I'M SORRY NBA 2K12 IS AN AMAZING GAME BUT THIS IS JUST FREAKING RIDICULOUS. IT MAKES ME QUESTION THE DEVELOPERS, DO THEY ACTUALLY WATCH THE GAMES? CAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A DAMN CLUE.
