The Fact that Madden 10 AND NBA Live 10 is even on the list is ridiculous because neither game was better than its 2005 counterparts. To me the Best madden was 05 (Intro of the Hitstick) and the Best live was 05 with the Dunk Contest and all the All-Star weekend events!!

Funny how things change in a few years. NCAA 04 went from 3-seed to missing the tourney while NCAA 06 went from 11-seed to 4-seed... Lol

a forgotten gem is ch2k6.

UPSET ALERT:
NBA Street V2 will win in the first round regardless of which 2 it faces (Except ch2k8)

btw how is celtics vs lakers on this year's list and not Bulls vs Blazers??? those were switched in 08.....what is that????

Where are numbers 65 through 68?

# 27 Elgin2311 @ 02/29/12 02:35 PM
Nba live 95 is my all time favorite. This list is missing a ton of great games. If your gonna, have mario tennis why not put in mario cart or mario baseball

CH 2k8 in a landslide..... and why is madden 10 there, yet only 1 version of FPS Football makes the cut...?

A lot of great games on this list. Fond memories are being sparked by reading it.

Baseball Stars
Bases Loaded 2

I spent countless hours playing both titles.

Tecmo Bowl and Super Bowl Tecmo Bowl are all time classics.

MVP 2005 is one for the ages. I played that game for 5 straight years with one Marlins franchise winning the World Series two years in a row.

My favorite version of The Show is 11 and am sad it did not make this list.

NBA 2K11 get's my vote as the GOAT Sports game.

If I had to list my top 5 it would be:

1) NBA 2K11
2) MLB The Show 2011
3) MVP 2005
4) Madden 2005
5) NHL 2011/NBA Live 2005

I love my old school sports games like NHL 94, Madden 99, NBA Live 95 etc but they can't hold up to the games I mentioned above. Not anymore. I love the last 2 generations of sports games. They have taken then to the next level as far as phyiscs, stat keeping, immersion and visuals of course.

Still the old school games are fun to play every now and then. I still have Super Bowl Tecmo Bowl tournaments with my Sunday softball team every 3 months on my original NES system.

And to Iceman87, the lack of international sports titles on the list doesn't surprise me at all... what do you expect from a country that proclaims the winners of their domestic competitions 'world champions'

Big snub in my opinion is High Heat 2003. Game was way ahead of it's time.

what was so good about all pro football 2k8. I bought it last year and had to throw it away. tried to get my friends to play it but their opinions were the same.

If you have to ask you'll never know. 2k8 was a great year for 2k as all of the games were spectacular.

This is a competition for the title of the best sports game ever, we could make it 69 teams and just pretend that Kelly Slater Surfing had a chance and eliminate them in some sort of play-in round, but then you'd be considering Kelly Slater Surfing one of the 69 greatest sports games of all time, and that's just wrong.

Why not throw the cricket game on the list? Sure its not the best game by any stretch of imagination but its played elsewhere so it deserves a shot. Lets give some high school a spot in the NCAA tourney this March, or at least mention the school, they play basketball too though not nearly on the level of the NCAA.
I was using KSS as an example, and you never know, some people might consider it to be one of the greatest games made. I thought it was a decent attempt.

In my opinion, this tournament needs to be shared/linked on other gaming sites because titles like Shane Warne Cricket - the best cricket game ever made, and Jonah Lomu Rugby - the best rugby game ever made, would get decent votes. And like NFL 2K5, these titles are still being played...

I'm sorta wavering between CHoops 2K8 and NFL 2K5. For a minute, I was about to open up a rant over snubbing Coach K, but I saw that I just overlooked that one. I would've figured that NBA Live 95 could have made the list. But with a few exceptions, it's hard to argue over what's presented here.

Suntan, you are so right. Why they went against the direction they took for '07 is beyond me.

# 39 spottieottiedop @ 02/29/12 07:54 PM
Wow selection committee. Two games got snubbed big time. Double Dribble the arcade edition and NES. And Coach K on the Sega Genesis.

than 04.
It may have a few good features but
