2k13 is going to be nowhere near that in facial quality.

This is NBA 2k12 on PC with a realistic graphics mod that the regular 360 is incapable of getting.

This is NBA 2k12 on 360 and PS3

.

Can we stop comparing a PC to a console please? The amount of resources (not to mention pure power) the PC has just completely dwarfs anything the 360 is capable of.
Well said, thank you for clearing that up for all these people complaining about graphics.

I don't think he's comparing PC to console. He's just wondering why 2K does get some NBA players right, but also does get some players wrong. It's an artistic thing it's not about having better graphics quality or a better resolution.

You guys need to all stop with the '2K12 sucked' hyperbole nonsense. No, the game did not suck, it was a great game with flaws. To try to recreate something that actually has an OBSERVABLE real-life counterpart (we're talking sports here, not warfare, not swords & shields, not zombies, not fantasy adventures) is not easy, because a lot of it has the human elements of unpredictability and subtlety.

1. Trying to get faces that take shaving, haircuts, acne, facial contortions, and speech into account is near-impossible, and not many other games get close to even attempting this.
2. Ok, I'll give you that online was a poor experience in the last few years. But there are other parts of the game that still give you a BASKETBALL experience 2nd to none. Try MyPlayer or get a friend to actually come over for User vs. User.

Just...do better than them before you criticize the game. All we can ask is that they fix the FLAWS. Anything beyond that is a feature they put in the game. And before you start trying to break down my argument, just realize that I don't want to spend the time trying to write up an essay about this crap. I'm just sick of the hyperbole, honestly.

i'm seeing some good stuff in the second vid, but also some questionable stuff. still seeing a few examples of people ramming into the paint with almost no contact...and the Lebron dunk in traffic looked like it should've been stopped with some type of contact...but we don't have the luxury of replay, so it's hard to say. definitely looked better than last year, but some of the exploitable physics may remain...we'll see when the demo is released.

The same guys that are complaning in this thread will be the same guys that will buy the game , stop complaining the team up guys said that once they put there hands on the controller they had very little to no complaints about the game they said it is like a whole new game way better than 2k12 , they said it is very realistic and they said that player models look great , and the gameplay you are look at is like 4 weeks old 2k is already improving and making tweaks , the team up guys said they walked out of there very very impressed and it was no where near the full build, so stop complaining 2k is now back in business they are doing everything they can to make this the best basketball game ever , im pretty sure they are aware of what your complaints are so stop ,

I was trying to understand what was making Durant look not exactly like himself. He looks better for sure (body model and all), but his head seems too big to me. There's something off about his head-body proportion. Anyone else noticed that, or I'm just looking too much?

That's true. But then again, with the new controls and all, I'm guessing many people will play horribly the first few games. It's going to take some time to get used to. So I think this time around I'll let it slide.

You would be right if development artist werent contrained by time and other resources to get a game out the door. I'm sure if they gave an artist weeks to just work on a face, they would be much better. Modders aren't on a schedule, don't have to worry about the smaller bits of art, and don't really care of their hi res textures fit in memory on a console or bring the PS3 graphics cards to its knees. It not just about artist skill.

But I'm sure that those folk that want to sound like experts will find something to criticize.

that second vid was on point. a lot of good things i saw there.

The game looks good but to have a perfect game 2k should have real shoes , real sleeves, whatever to make the players look even better..I've never seen lebron wearing a black sleeve while playing at home. The gameplay is amazing, this is the only thing where nba live is better, fix that and you have best game!

I did not like the second Vid, honestly though, I did not see alot of Collision and Mario Chalmers got stuck when he was trying to defend cook. I wanted to see the bumps and collisions. Fast breaks or hit and miss on that vid, but they were just running and gunning, so it's hard to tell how it would have look with that style of play.

Its a good thing to see 2 novices play the game because it gives an indication into how much users can get away with. Contact in the paint looked nice besides the Lebron dunk(which I can live with every once in a while). When defenders were squared up in front of the offensive player, the animations played out realistically. I saw less sliding overall, better foot planting, and more controlled momentum.

It didnt take the novice users long to figure out how easy shooting is with certain players releases. I wont be surprised if that's an issue in 2k13 given the 3-parade pre-patch from last year and the new signature abilities like dead eyes, corner specialists, and sharp shooter.

We all have to remember, there is only so much the graphics can improve on a 7 year old console.
