Ugh. I can't get over this continual Bosh disrespect. He's the third option on the best team in basketball, playing alongside two legit superstar hall-of-famers. Naturally, his numbers are going to suffer. THAT DOESN'T MEAN HIS SKILLS ARE WORSE, THOUGH. Winning should matter in ratings; it shouldn't penalize good players who play with other good players. Is 2K going to drop Dwight's rating when his numbers naturally go down this year?

Even as the 3rd option on the best team, though, Bosh had better numbers across the board than the 2nd option on a team that squeaked into the playoffs and got an 84 rating. There's no way Bosh shouldn't be rated higher Amare.

Here's their 2012 per game stats:

Bosh Amare

Pts 18.0 17.5
Reb 7.9 7.8
Asst 1.8 1.1
Fg% .487 .483
FT% .821 .765
TO 2.1 2.4

Again, that's with Bosh giving touches to two of the best players/scorers in the game and being a member of one of the top defensive teams. He was a consistent 22 pts, 10 reb performer for the Raptors. He still has those skills. It's ridiculous that he keeps getting slighted in his rating because he's a team player on a great team. Pau averaged 17 pts, 10 reb for a Laker team that lost in the 2nd round. I will grant that Pau is, overall, slightly more skilled than Bosh. Slightly. It's not a difference of 87-82, though. Bosh should be no less than an 84 and, really, should be at least an 85 when you compare him to other power forwards on teams that win much less.

I really hope 2K gets wind of these rating complaints. I have a feeling they are still making tweaks that aren't reflected in these screen shots (Manu was revealed to be an 86, afterall). So, I hope they address some of the most glaring ones: Bosh, Chandler, David West (another case of winning being penalized), Melo, etc.

Why? What are they seeing now, today that garner them being changed from weeks ago. What are they basing it on that we all can see and understand?

Dwight now a 96??????????????!!!!!

He's not even going to start the season because he is injured. He can't hit free throws or mid-range jumpers and has one post move. How does this compare to the best centers of all-time? Are they saying he's better than Shaq in his prime. No way. Shaq dominated.

Glad to see Hibbert getting some love, but an 86 seems like a typo. Way too much love. 82 seems about right.

Bosh is inching his way up. Maybe by release he'll be an 84.

What these latest rating reveals do mean, though, is that we really can't look too far into those screen shots. They must have been from over a month ago (what with Barnes on the wrong team and all the adjustments we're already seeing...).

The @NBA2KInsider handles ratings.

Would agree Bosh is too low and Dwight is a tad bit high.

# 146 beast10 @ 09/17/12 03:13 PM
Jason Kidd is an 80 ? Roy Hibbert is a 86???
Hibert sucks, the only reason he was an All-Star is because the lack of Eastern depth.

i think Tyson Chandler (Defensive Player of the Year) is too low too, compare to Roy Hibbert's 86, lol, sorry, i don't think Chandler much worst than Hibbert

Stats Comparison
Chandler Hibbert
PPG 11.3 12.8
RPG 9.9 8.8
SPG 0.9 0.5
BPG 1.4 2.0
FG% .497 .679
FT% .711 .689
TOPG 2.0 1.6

I think it's not 9 points difference

If Shaq, Robinson, Kareem and Hakeem's ratings are higher than Dwight, then ok. I still feel he's overrated here

Yes, Howard is a once in a generation TALENT, but he hasn't yet perfected once in a generation SKILLS. His 96 overall rating is way too close to some of the all-time greats, who frankly, had MUCH better overall games and offensive skills (Hakeem, Robinson, Shaq, etc).

93/94 seems much more accurate for a guy with no post moves or a jump shot. The above guys all averaged a lot more points than Dwight and won a lot more titles, while still putting up huge rebounding numbers and effecting the game on both ends.

Dwight Howard is overrated and Tony Parker is underrated. Dwight Howard's offense is better than his defense??? Yeah Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

# 152 css004 @ 09/17/12 03:46 PM
The ratings aren't accurate but for the most part they're consistent bc everyone is overrated with the exception of Bosh

# 153 Plush oNe @ 09/17/12 03:47 PM
Roy Hibbert a 79? That dude should be at least an 85 or 86.

# 154 css004 @ 09/17/12 03:48 PM
Too many role players getting all star caliber ratings is the main problem

# 155 Wad3County12 @ 09/17/12 03:48 PM
Duncan is an 87 and Bosh is an 82 !? And how the hell is Kidd still a 80 ? I don't really look into ratings but those stood out, as the season goes along they are adjusted anyway.

Yeah I absolutely agree, people seem to forget he is the most important player on the team. It was evident during this year's playoff when he went down with abdominal injury. If he didn't come back in time against the Boston Celtics, the Heats would not have been in the NBA Finals. And also the team was a different team against the Pacers without Bosh. Just because he's not Lebron or Wade status wise, it doesn't negate the importance of what he brings to the team. And also he outplayed Amare in the first round in every way as well. People are so disrespectful sometimes...

# 158 CWSapp757 @ 09/17/12 04:10 PM
The people that say overall do not matter are right in the area of gameplay are right. However, overall plays a major part in Association. Having a league full of overrated players leads to players getting paid way more money and teams not having the money to sign players that are too good to ever be sitting in free agency.

Also, I am not really a fan of the inflated rosters BUT all could be well depending on whether or not they fixed potential. Anyone that went through with a more than a couple of years saw that there were WAY too many highly rated (85+ rated players). This was because potential was set to increase along with other attributes. A player with an 80 potential rating could have as high as a 99 in a few years. If potential actually remains stationary this year, the inflation won't be as bad as last year would lead us to believe.

I highly doubt Chandler's final rating on release day will be a 77.
