NBA 2K13 Video - 6.6.13

2K Sports has released a teaser video pointing towards an NBA 2K14 trailer before or during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

All that is shown in this video is NBA 2K13 footage. Let's hope we get to see some actual footage from NBA 2K14 on Thursday.

Would have been cool if the video was all Spurs and Heat players. Seeing D-Rose on the court made me laugh.

My guess... We get official confirmation for Xbox One and PS4. We'll get a few slow-mo action shots to drool over, a couple of quick gameplay peeks and hopefully no CGI.

Yeah I am definitely expecting something to hint at next generation systems even if it is just something that says PS4 and Xbox one at the end of the trailer. I am expecting no CGI but close up zoom style so you can see the details.

Now this doesn't necessarily allow to predict the amount of improvements, and there are other core issues EA needs to take care of (e.g. making catching up logic optional), but the way they announce new features for FIFA 14 is really something 2k should emulate.

Even if it turns out to be disappointing, it's still something which won't impress casual kiddie players. a nice attempt to show actual substance instead of gimmicks.

I won't get into 2k13 dev previews, where claims about gameplay improvements were straight up lies, so let's see what we know about 2k14 right now:
-more dunks
-signature getbacks
-cooperation with an online shoe website
So basically, nothing worth anything. Still, with giving Leftos a job, I'm somewhat optimistic...

So I'm still hoping for substance instead of style, but I suspect any gameplay footage will basically be a montage of superstar players in close up shots of their faces looking around before doing some crossovers and dunks. But we'll see...
