Madden NFL 25 News Post

If you have bought (or are buying) a current-gen version of Madden NFL 25, prepare to get a deep discount on the game on next-gen if you want to trade your current version in for the next-gen version of the game.

EA Sports is touting their trade-in $15 Madden offer, which is live on Amazon, Gamestop, Future Shop and Best Buy currently.

It will be interesting to see if sales of current generation Madden are lower than usual, as EA seems very determined to try to boost sales on the current generation consoles right now.

You can take advantage of this deal on Amazon right now if you plan on owning an Xbox One, we'll have links for you PS4 users soon!

Are you going to be taking advantage of the $15 next-gen deal for Madden NFL 25?

Update: There is a discrepancy in what EA says and what Amazon is offering. While Amazon says the XBox One version can be had for $9.99 but EA claims $15 on the blog article mentioned above. Even more confusing, there is no mention of a deal for PS4 users on Amazon anywhere. We're trying to get some clarification on this!

Update #2: EA tells us all of the retailers are setting their own deals. Right now, Best Buy and Future Shop appear to be the only stores doing a PS3 to PS4 deal. No retailer (as far as we know) is doing cross-company deals (360 to PS4, etc). Each company is doing their own prices, with some appearing as low as $9.99 for a next-gen Madden with the trade-in of a good copy of the current gen game.

this post is correct , at this time only two offering the ps3/ps4 upgrade is futureshop and best buy. i love how ea put this info out almost 2 weeks after the games been out ,and more than alot of people have already bought the game.and most likely at a place that wont be offering a deal for ps4. such total bs. they knew this info before they released the game , i had already heard then that gamestop was doing the deal with xbox .weeks before the game came out, so not like they didnt know, they just wanted to wait until alot of peps had already bought the game....true , i understand what some wanna say next.... its not ea.... but it is , you know ea is giving these companies discounts on the games or they wouldnt be able to offer the deal. dont be naive please.classic ea tatics.cant just make it easy on peps and give em what they deserve

Oh wow maybe I shouldn't have gone to EB Games... EB is only $30 but you can cross platform so 360 to ps4 or ps3 to xbox one.

I went to EB games first to see if they would match the deal but they said no. So I bought the game from future shop. Not sure if you can cross platform at future shop or best buy as it didn't say but it still could be possible. You have to get next gen madden within the first week of it's release for the deal to be valid.

Madden 25 (PS3 & 360) has problems. Why go out and buy the game when it needs to be patched? Usually patches create more problems and need another patch. It's quite possible that PS3/360 version won't be fully functional until Dec (happened before). EA doing this raises the red flag of WHY?
Are they admitting the PS3/360 version is subpar?

The pre-orders for the PS4 & X1 are at the numbers of the PS3 & 360?

I'm not buying because of the patches it required last year & the game just sat, didn't play it until after the Holidays.
So, I wait for a better deal ($19.99-$29.99 black Friday Deals).

Really hoping Amazon extends it to to the PS3-PS4 people, I went with them for the NFL Sunday Ticket deal, of course if that hadn't had been an option I likely would have just waited until next-gen to pick up Madden 25. Still would be nice to only have to pay $10 (heck even $15 would be fine).

They aren't admitting that their product is subpar, to the contrary, many are holding it up as the best game this gen, I know its not seen that way around here (and complaints are legitimate), the reviewers have spoken and the game has been received well.

All they are doing here is trying to sell copies of the game now instead of losing sales at the front end and possibly not getting them back on the backend.

There are several people who won't be picking up the game, not because they won't enjoy it but because they are going to be picking up the game when it releases on next-gen. That affects their sales figures, and of the people that say they will pick it up on Next-Gen there is no guarantee that they will actually pick it up on Next-Gen (if they make it to November without it they may decide they can make it until next August if the reviews are less than stellar). This way they can get those who are itching to play the new game but planned on holding out until Next-Gen, to buy it now. EA still sells 2 games.

Don't read into it any further than that, EA is not the only company doing this, a lot of companies are trying to get people to pick up the current-gen versions instead of waiting until next-gen version.

I also noticed that for certain ones like Future Shop, it says that you had to have bought the current-gen game from them in order to get the next-gen version.
