NBA 2K14 News Post

As if you couldn't imagine NBA 2K14 adding anything else cool, today 2K Sports released a trailer that reveals they have 600 real player and coach interviews which will be used in the game.

The feature, called 2K Real Voices, will feature real halftime and post-game interviews. Most likely a few players per team are represented with multiple possible interviews per player, it's a cool feature for sure that'll help the immersion factor within the game.

Sounds crazy cool, what do you all think?

Based on how 2K has been raising the bar they put all the same stances in this video so you could see the switch between players and when people play the real game they will be multiple stances.

Great start though.

Yeah, not a big deal to me. There's only so many things you can do with your arms. If they have hands on hips, hands behind back and arms folded, that's really all they need.

No signature "eye darts" from Roy Hibbert? Come on 2k

They did get a signature stutter in there though

In the gameplay vid that was posted recently with rose being interview he moved around and changed stances quite a bit so I dont think that will be too much of a problem

Literally sold my PS3 after watching this. I can't even bother playing current gen anymore. It can't be said enough how amazing this is.

hahaha everyone has the superman pose....but this is year one...and im glad they were able to use real NBA audio clips...I def heard Garnetts and Lebron....LOL at Westbrook...dude your job as a point guard is to distribute and help your teammates get in scoring positions...your job as a professional athlete is to compete at a high level.

Good catch.

More than one pose and one angle, all is well in the world.

The fact that they have us criticizing what the players said in interviews means 2K did this EXACTLY right.

WOW. I have very few words for what I just saw. Amazing all around, ESPECIALLY if it grows in future iterations. This pretty much brings 2K14 to another level compared to the majority of the sports titles at launch. Pretty much APF2K8's "Field Pass" combined with ESPN NFL 2K5's postgame interviews, but with real player voices.

I just hope the interviews come with actual context. I don't want Kobe to praise his bigs when his entire frontcourt only puts up two points. Knowing 2K and their emphasis on authentic presentation, I have a feeling they'll find a way.

I seriously don't see a reason to complain about any of this. I don't care what kind of animation sets the players and coaches have because this is a good starting point. If they're still rocking the same animations in two years, sure I'll raise my voice. But this is a brand new feature and I'm thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail.

That's insane. Only problem is it does look a bit robotic (expected in the first year of adding it in, but OMG it's still incredible) and why are they in the middle of the court instead of the corner where these interviews usually take place, minus post-game interviews which are done pretty much where ever. This is going to help me stay locked in on one franchise for a while in MyGM.

Hey, look at that, another cool thing from 2K! Good thing these new systems are x86 architecture. Developers can just jump right in now.

How do you guys think they got the audio? Ripped it from real NBA broadcasts? Had the players/coaches record a few lines in a studio?
