Does my OS account automatically work at Dynasty Nation, or will I need a new account?

CM Hooe, I believe you will need to create a separate account on Dynasty Nation.

I'm so excited about this! I've been a member of Dynasty Nation for a long time and have pushed for this to happen for as long as I can remember.

I can answer any questions that you guys may have about the site. While it may not be for everyone, I will say that I think a lot of you guys that have been running dynasties on the forums have been missing out. This takes it to the next level. I'm just glad that OS now has the tools with the site and DN has the community involvement.

You just need to create a new account over there. They are not tied together.

Let me say this about the site for anyone messing around with it.

At first it might seem a little overwhelming and complicated, but it's really not. At all. Once you start to figure it out it is quite simple. And it allows you to do so much more than just posting on forums. It links everything together just like a real website. Rosters, injuries, stories, box scores, ect. Really anything at all.

I started running a page like this back in 2008 and I remember feeling a bit frustrated form time to time but eventually I was able to learn all the tricks and ins and outs of the site. Now I really can't ever imagine playing a sports game again without doing a site like this. If you're into immersion in your gaming, this is for you. For sure.

The thing I love the most about it is being able to keep up with year-to-year stats. Check out my roster page for reference. Each year I can go in and add the stats to the player profiles. I'll provide some links (not to toot my own horn, I'm too old for that) but just to show you what these sites can look like and what you can do with them.

Here's the one I'm doing now. Its my Chicago Cubs page. Check out the rosters and notice the yearly stats. I created pretty much everything on my sites on photoshop, so if you need some help with that or would like to request a background just hit me up.

Here's my Blackhawks page, which I am currently not running but will when NHL 15 drops.

And here's my Bears page. Again, currently not updating but will when Madden 15 comes out.

Any integrations between the sites planned that can be teased?

What do you mean? As far as I know they will be kept separate. You'll need an account on the site to set up a dynasty.

Oh, sorry you said "teased." I thought you said tested. Ha. As far as integration, I hope so and I also hope to see more updates to the site. There is nothing concrete, however.

Yeah, if account commingling isn't coming, then some form of synchronization or being able to automatically promote dynasties via signature or something on the left side like Blogs at the very least would seem appropriate.

If they're being kept completely separate I'm not sure I'd ever mess with this.

I know. I would love this to happen too but I'm not sure if or when it will. I'm not enough of a computer guru to be able to really edit or change anything behind the scenes with the site. I just know how to set up a site well and do things graphically on photoshop. I have suggested this to Steve but we've got to find someone that can make those kind of changes while not breaking anything.

I know it's a bit of a hassle but I'm just posting a quick link in the dynasty section here on OS that takes people to my story on Dynasty Nation. DN is so much better for keeping track of things. You can make links to everything just like a real site instead of just having post after post. I love it but at the same time I know it's not for everyone.

Those were my thoughts the first time I ever saw it, too. If you need help, just ask.

Just checked out this other site and I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. I think the 2 main plusses I saw were 1) Compared to OS threads, the Dynasty Nation pages look a bit more like the MLB.com team page layout with tabs that lead to specific areas and 2) the lack of archiving a ton of individual posts (previous posts are stored as links on a history page) into a single thread that may grow to several tens of pages and be unwieldy to catch up on for new readers.

Other than that, all of the dynasties that I looked at, while fine, looked pretty much to be clones of one another regarding the formatting. I'm not sure from what I saw that I would take the step of making a separate account (if needed) and transferring over there. It looks like, via OS, we already have comparable functionality and options for adding images/text/stats as there are on Dynasty Nation. I also did not particularly like that the webpage format was a little busy with things like season stats, an article, MiLB standings, top prospects, and several other things all sharing the same page. It was a little bit busy looking.

One of the great strengths of current OS dynasties is the large variety in style and formatting and I don't know enough about DN to say if that's possible, but it did not appear to be from the handful of dynasties I looked at.

It might take a while for me to get used to Dynasty Nation but it looks promising to me so far.

One question though: How do you make those epic backgrounds? Mine is still generic and I have no clue how to do it correctly

I have made the backgrounds for many, many people on there. If you have a request just let me know, I'm going to try and get a couple knocked out today.

Here's some examples of the one's I've done...

To each their own. I absolutely love it.

So I signed up for the site and looked around, and I guess you can't do a be-a-pro mode (such as NBA 2K's MyCareer) on DN, can you?

If you can, I couldn't find any. Just teams.

I get that it's called Dynasty Nation and not Career Nation, but...
