They should program the commentary around the action on the floor. If a great play happens, the commentators and crowd should react as if the play was amazing. It doesn't mean it has to specifically talk about the ball bouncing off the ground and in. But they didn't even mention the play at all; there's no awareness of what's happening on the court.
