NBA 2K16 Adds '00-'01 Lakers & '03-'04 Pistons to the List of Classic Teams

2K Sports has added the '00-'01 Los Angeles Lakers (previously revealed) & '03-'04 Detroit Pistons to the list of classic teams in NBA 2K16.

There will be 12 new classic teams added this year, 7 of them have now been confirmed.

Here is the list of confirmed classic teams so far:

'03-'04 Detroit Pistons
'07-'08 Houston Rockets
'99-'00 Toronto Raptors
'07-08 Boston Celtics
'00-'01 Los Angeles Lakers
'02-'03 Dallas Mavericks
'99-'00 Portland Trail Blazers

Two more teams will be revealed next Thursday.

Usually I don't care so much about 21st century teams, but the 2003-04 Pistons are a great addition. Finally the last great Piston team in their prime (I assume it's the post-Sheed trade).

Good call on Rasheed. I saw Rip should definitely have the mask though, since he went through the entire playoff run with it (from March 10, 2004 onward; it's his signature.

And would definitely be nice to get Darvin Ham back on board. Though, since most of the classic teams are missing players, I wonder if he'll be one of the few to not make the cut.

8.Corliss Williamson (must)
9.Mike James (should be in)
10.Elden Campbell (already in the game)
11.Darvin Ham (hopefully)
12th spot ? Wanna see a 65 ovr Darko [emoji2]

Keep in mind '95 Doug Christie was a really good 74-75 ovr silver in this game for years despite avg'ing about 2 points a game with 15 games played.

If it didn't end up being a permanent fixture for the rest of his career I may agree. But he basically rocked it for the duration of the Sheed era in Detroit (Wallace came over in late February, Hamilton finally relented and began wearing the mask in early March).

2K4 was the best thing that ever happened to 2K fans who wanted another NBA Jam game. Whenever someone calls one of the newer 2K's "The worst NBA 2K ever!", they have never played 2K4. Worst physics, worst animations, worst post-game (actually NO POST GAME whatsoever), worst dribbling system. The only good things about the game were the graphics and presentation. And I'm not using today's standards - I using 2003 standards.

I think that even the developers wanted nothing do with it. Which is why it was called ESPN NBA Basketball ("2K4" was hidden).
