NBA 2K16 Adds '00-'01 Lakers & '03-'04 Pistons to the List of Classic Teams

2K Sports has added the '00-'01 Los Angeles Lakers (previously revealed) & '03-'04 Detroit Pistons to the list of classic teams in NBA 2K16.

There will be 12 new classic teams added this year, 7 of them have now been confirmed.

Here is the list of confirmed classic teams so far:

'03-'04 Detroit Pistons
'07-'08 Houston Rockets
'99-'00 Toronto Raptors
'07-08 Boston Celtics
'00-'01 Los Angeles Lakers
'02-'03 Dallas Mavericks
'99-'00 Portland Trail Blazers

Two more teams will be revealed next Thursday.

Yes, they are :-(

I'm not holding out hope for their inclusion, but it'd be really awesome if they were, especially with the addition of all these other 2000's classics. Bonzi Wells was another biceps band guy.

If I had to guess, the upper wrist bands will be used as substitutes. That's what we used to do with our custom rosters.

Figured it'd be worth mentioning anyhow, jussssst in case.

Also, super small detail, but the 2004 Pistons still had their horsepower logo on their shorts:

Currently, they have a Pistons "P". Very small, but with 2K's penchant for little things, I thought it was worth another mention.

I just don't get it why 2K doesn't hire some modders in the community to help 2K to do the player who didn't get scanned

The fact they haven't shown any screens yet makes me a little nervous that the classic players still don't look good. Really hoping I am wrong though.

I haven't seen a player with bicep bands for like 10 years.
Anybody know the reason for the ban?

I think it was just a little means of reeling in the dress code and attempting to create a sense of uniformity. However, I'm not sure if I buy that and I don't recall hearing an official reason - just that bands were banned above the elbow.

i think the 98-99 knicks have a better chance to get a team tho due to them being a 8 seed and beating a 1 seed, and getting to the finals.

00-01 Bucks went to ECF, and lost in 7. 01-02 Nets wasn't an amazing team, but it would be fun to play with Kidd in his prime. And there bench had WAY more depth then the 04-05 team. And if it weren't for Stoudemire leaving the bench Phoenix would of won the NBA Finals that year.

Just for clarification, I may have missed this but will these be 12 new classic teams to go along with the previous classic teams that have been in the game the past few years. Or will these 12 new teams be the only classic teams featured in NBA2K16?

We will still have the Classic Teams from NBA 2K15 + The 12 New Classic Teams!

They are additions to the classic teams the game already has as far as we know.
