I'm sure Corliss Williamson wanted to be the greatest, but I also think he ended up taking pride in serving his team the best way he could, even if that meant being a crucial sixth man on a championship winning ballclub. I think that's what that poster meant.

I'm personally more intrigued with this storyline than any other because of Spike Lee's presence. I imagine it could end up being a cool way of handling a MyPlayer mode direction I haven't been a fan of in recent years. Otherwise, I'd typically still prefer the initial MyPlayer route (where working through the D-League was a real possibility) with increased versatility.
This
It's hard to make an NBA roster it's also hard to stay there nothing is easy in the NBA I want it to feel like the real NBA where my job isn't safe I could be on the roster one day or get waived or traded the next day.
I'd like to contribute to a team in any way possible as the 6th man, that role player on the bench thats a specialist in certain areas, as long as it helps the team.
I want to EARN my spot in the NBA

Trailer looks good, but I wouldn't want/like they forced people to be the "franchise player" in the NBA, like previous years. I can understand if it happens in HS or even College, but happening in the NBA would be too much.

The "Freq" thing will probably be a bit annoying, I would be better if they gave you the chance to choose a nickname from a list, like when you created MyPlayer last year. At least I hope there's a good excuse for the "Freq" thing...

I'm shocked no one has complained about it being "Livin' Da Dream" instead of the so much tougher to spell out say "Living The Dream" version as well in this thread.

Same. Pro wrestler Michael Shawn Hickenbottom...better known as "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels.

And again, at least this is just a nickname.

There is, your character actually has a name that other characters can call you by lol. Everyone is forgetting they can't sit there and record every name in the database for each scene that requires a name to be said when they can just have a nickname (used for cutscenes most likely) that they call you by allowing the actors to do their jobs.

Bashing the developers is a good way to get banned on here. I'd edit your post if you want to stick around. I'm not a mod, just trying to be helpful and to save you so to speak.

well it's not gameplay, it's not A.I. , it's not coding , it's not QA, it's not being created by a producer, there are no commercial or ads involved....so who does it?! Design team I guess?? But that sounds like under presentation

I personally want my NBA role to be determined by how I do in College and pre-draft. Not everyone wants to be forced into being a star. Some of us want teams to look at our strengths and draft us based on their needs. If I was a 6'7 3&D SF with a good attitude then the Raptors would probably want to draft me IRL.

Btw some players just want to make money, have no motivation to be the best or live up to their potential (Terrence Ross, #2 Overall pick Darko Milicic), some just want to be specialists.

Read the TOS, and we get it too

Those are the kinds of posts that get out of hand and starts the nonsense

There is zero tolerance if you haven't noticed...just a heads up

The nickname is stupid but not a dea lbreaker and I'm not into the story. I'd rather earn the right to be a star out of college by being drafted in the lottery. I used this analogy many times already but if I'm a 6'7 3&D SF I want a team like the Raptors to have me on their radar to fill their needs. And maybe I'm projected as a starter but then they get an upgrade (Carroll) and I'm moved to a backup role or I have to play SG or PF. I just want to play a realistic career mode and to be able to make multiple players with different career paths and roles. I'm hoping that scripted gameplay is gone. I want the mode to feel organic. Maybe it will be fun when I play it but for now it looks like I'm just going to be working on my player to bring him online.

After looking at all this info today (and with more coming throughout the week I'd say on MyCareer) I have to say I will give it a shot. I never play MyCareer (heck, did not even get the game last year! Shame on me!), but this intrigues me. I hate that UK is not a college choice, but I still like the ability to play in a few college games (and HS games I assume as well). The story part sounds cool to me, and although like most of you, I chuckle a bit at the nickname...not a dealbreaker for me.

My biggest concern is I will get to the NBA and get bored after a few games so will look forward to you MyCareer veterans giving me advice on how to "keep it fresh" going forward. I also have no idea how anyone could do a whole career on this even if they played 2-3 hours a day for everyday for the next year until 2k17 So idk if some simming is in order or not. I digress. Great job by 2k!

I like the idea of bringing in Spike - shows a "we mean business" aspect to the mode..... it's apparent that 2K will stop at nothing for the sake of making something work.... which speaks volumes.

So hopefully people who play this mode enjoy it (I don't). But I sincerely hope it's good for all involved.

But hopefully the dust settles soon so we can focus on Czar's 9 Teams in 9 Days vids coming!!! (*cough* hint hint)..... (sorry I had to).

Your character—who doesn't have to be called Frequency Vibrations; you can name him whatever you want—begins the story as a high school basketball superstar. That's right, you'll get a chance to play high school games in NBA 2K16.

Hope it calms down some of the nonsense
