NBA 2K16 News Post

A new patch for the PC version of NBA 2K16 is available now. Check out the details below.

GENERAL
  • Support added for custom keyboard configurations.
  • Optimization improvements that increase performance across all configurations.
  • Addressed an issue where some users would notice commentary cutting out during gameplay.
  • Resolved frame rate stuttering at start of games/between quarters on moderate to high-end systems.
  • Addressed an issue where some users would see a black screen in the Edit Arena and Edit Uniform menus when ‘Special Effects’ was turned off.
  • New Video Settings option ‘Media People Detail Level’ added; reducing this will help performance on low-end and mid-range graphics cards.
  • Corrected missing/incorrect player icons when using a non-Xbox 360 controller.
  • Fixed a rare hang that could occur when attempting to fast-forward 2KTV.
  • Fixed a rare driver crash on DirectX 10.0 and DirectX 10.1 graphics cards.
  • Help text added to Video Settings menu.
  • Additional detail setting now available for Shader Detail in the Video Settings menu.
  • Fixed super sampling not working when Letterbox (formerly called Aspect Ratio Correction) was disabled.
  • The following Video Settings options should now provide the expected results when modified: Color Correction, Depth of Field, Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, Bloom, and Volumetric Effects.
  • Resolved a rare case where the game would hang when entering/exiting the Tattoo editor when customizing the tattoos on your MyPLAYER.
  • Addressed an issue on the main menu where the title would freeze for a period of time before proceeding to the selected action (e.g. loading a MyCAREER save).
  • Players will no longer slide/skate when pressing the block button during an inbound state. It was funny while it lasted.
  • Tuned crowd excitement and intensity on made buzzer beaters.
  • Resolved a case where certain players (e.g. Kristaps Porzingis) would have their hairstyle change slightly when zooming in the camera very close in replay.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • Pro-Am Team Play has been added to the game! You can now play as a full team in your custom-built arenas.
  • Addressed a number of matchmaking issues that inhibited users from playing in Pro-Am Walk-On games.
  • Fixed an issue where your player would sometimes appear with the incorrect height (if you had more than one MyCAREER save file) when entering MyPARK/Pro-Am from within MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a rare case where the ball would get stuck in the High Roller courts, thus preventing a game from concluding.
  • Improved the animation of the skateboard in MyPARK. If you don’t have this, get it. You can move between courts faster than those that are on-foot!
  • 2K Beats will now continue to play after finishing a game in MyPARK.
MyCAREER/MyCOURT
  • Fixed an issue where some users were unable to join their friends’ MyCOURTs.
  • Fixed an issue where the host user was unable to send MyCOURT invites after leaving MyPARK/Pro-Am with a squad.
  • Addressed a number of issues with Accolades not unlocking at the appropriate time within MyCAREER.
  • Pressing the back button will no longer cause the game to hang from the MyCAREER NEXT menu after being eliminated from the playoffs.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Numerous tuning and code enhancements to improve simulated player stats.
  • Playoff games (within a series) can no longer be played out of order in MyLEAGUE Online.
  • Found and fixed a case where visiting certain submenus with no head coach would cause the game to hang.
  • Fans of relocated/rebranded teams will no longer hold up signs referencing the previous identity of the team.
  • Fixed a rare hang that could occur when the ticker referenced a previous game result where all of the players on the team have since been traded.
  • Selecting to load a custom draft class will no longer cause a game hang in the MyGM offseason if you had previously been fired during that same offseason.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

Processor: Intel Core2 Duo or better (SSE3 or later)

Either game going to be optimized by the end of this year or we are stuck with same problems for a long time
Not even. GMSS's PC is a monster. Here's mine, which pulls 60 FPS in 1920x1080 during gameplay just fine (only time it drops below that is during stoppages when the wide-angle cameras appear). If anything mine is below spec for the highest-end games, but it does just fine here.

Only difference from when I created that profile is that it's now running Win10.

Game performs better for me online fps-wise, though that makes the input lag more apparent. This is on the lowest possible settings. I've still got playcalling/passing icons with my wired xbox360 controller.

Simply not true

i5 4690
8gb DDR3
gtx 960 (2gb)

worked flawlessly on maxed settings at 70+fps even before the patch.

Aside of rig whoring, did you really not see the difference between your specs and minimal requirements?

It's not about fps, it's about bugs and glitches that do not appear on certain PC.

Man, I hope this hasn't broken my game. It's been working fine since the last patch they put out (minus the commentary cutting out, but a quick jump into simcast live fixes that 99 percent of the time). I'm in the Finals in my Sonics MyLeague against the Cavs, up 2-1 in the series, and if I have to play without icon passing I will be slaughtered. My margin for error against that team is small.

Will have to wait till tomorrow afternoon to see. *sigh*

How does it feel knowing that any rookie you or any other team drafts is going to have the exact same shot base?

honestly... I can edit them if I really cared. It sucks but not going to stop me from playing.

Generated rookies are a cancer to your league. I've been using user created draft classes for years, so the shot base glitch is no biggie for me.

The patch notes for the PS4 version stated they fixed the generation of sweat for longer quarters. This doesn't seem to be the case for the PC version (unless someone can chime in).

Apart from that the patch fixed the issues I was having, namely stuttering/sync problems during end of quarter highlights and replays.

Are there people using PS4 Controller natively without emulators? Because I'm using DS4 tool and I wonder if a lot of the problems people are having could be fixed buy this.

# 52 thevardano @ 11/03/15 01:17 AM
I had no performance problems, so I really wanted audio fix. Listen, this is not funny, still commentary bug exist, this is game breaking. Very disappointing.

# 53 Loose89 @ 11/03/15 01:21 AM
Bit of a joke that this patch is 4.3gb with the list of fixes they're implementing.

# 54 Cripterion @ 11/03/15 02:42 AM
4.3GB and replays are still not fixed... Nothing else to say as the patch hasn't changed anything at all for me.

# 55 Nza @ 11/03/15 03:31 AM
Were replays mentioned in the patch notes? Not sure why people expect stuff not mentioned.

Performance is a non issue for me now - hopefully everyone else too. Commentary is unchanged i.e. broken, despite the patch notes. Such a strange situation where a universal bug can't be fixed - it's not like we're talking about a problem affecting a few with obscure hardware. Unfortunately it speaks to the sad state of QA in gaming today.

Well... It's not downloading for me... Any way to force a game to look for an update? I got the "keep this game updated" thing already, but I don't have the patch. Could be the region?

Edit: Nevermind, I got it now

Windows 10 has native support for Dualshock controllers. You won't get any rumble but it works quite well without InputMapper or whatever you are using.

# 58 Goffs @ 11/03/15 06:47 AM
Do they react past 6 minute quarters? The commentary still cuts off...

^It feels fine? I don't care about shot bases or accessories or anything like that. I usually use created draft classes for the first 3-4 years of my MyLeague and then go auto-generated. I've never been a stickler for accurate shot releases/bases/forms and I likely never will.

Yes, I realize it's not remotely realistic to have everyone who comes into the league shoot the exact same way, but its not realistic for me to take the Brooklyn Nets and move them to Seattle to become the SuperSonics, so the premise of my MyLeague doesn't rely on realism at all.

Plus, it's a videogame. I'm fine with being reminded of that for things that don't break the game (IE, same shot bases for auto-generated rookies instead of broken passing icons).

I'm on PS4 and the sweat issue is still existing despite them stating to have fixed it. This also goes for XBox One! Sorry, 2K. But this is frustrating, annoying and ridiculous.
