EA Sports UFC 2 News Post


EA Sports UFC 2 patch 1.06 and content update #3 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans, weighing in at just over 1 GB. The update adds 3 new fighters, Cris Cyborg (Women's Bantamweight), Valentina Shevchenko (Women's Bantamweight) and Albert Tumenov (Welterweight).

Below are the gameplay updates in patch 1.06.
  • Added a third transition for submissive fighter in Back Sitting.
  • Block will not come back up automatically after a missed parry, or a timed out parry.
  • Liver Health Event allows high or low blocking.
  • Addressed issue where spamming transition fakes on the ground would regain stamina.
  • Addressed double stamina tax when opponent sprawls on user's takedown.
  • Addressed an issue where takedown denial stamina penalty was being applied when the user is struck out of a takedown.
  • General AI Improvements.
  • General Referee Improvements.

I agree one guy just cant work on the ai,it seems skynet needs some help with the AI. i think there is much more variables to the gameplay and skynet never had time to adjust to it compared to ea ufc 1 which had less variables and universal block.

I know this is completely off topic but since there are at least 2 senior devs looking at this thread I've two questions


is there any consideration for reducing the the splintering of Utlimate team player base ( I made a suggestion at http://www.operationsports.com/forum...mate-team.html ) but I'm sure you guys will have ideas too


is there any talk about adding a submission to the finish the fight scenario for us submission specialists

Probably in UFC 3 the same with revamped standup and better ai also better submission.

But hey you never know...

As far as AI I think for the most part it's fine. I'm not talking about fighter uniqueness, but just general characteristics. I didn't notice that much difference in between beginner and pro difficulty, except pro was very good at parries, nearly as good as they were in ufc1. Pro also had a tendency to temporarily deplete stamina quick multiple times, and throw limp strikes.

As far as beating ai with jabs building up multiplier and what not, if you don't play like that you will never notice it. If you look for specific tactics to beat ai I'm sure you will always find a method.

With exception of ai depleting stamina it's okay in my book. Even if they do deplete stamina I don't mind if they are parrying everything. In the few matches i played AI has decent clinch denials, decent offense, some nice feints, supernatural ability to parry.

Future suggestions for updates

#1 For unranked online matches, can there please be a "rematch" option instead of having to send an invite and schedule a match? Since it is unranked, what's the harm?

#2 Can we please do away with the incredibly long scenes before the fight begins? If the person is not ready to fight, they should not have started the match.

#3 I liked the old pre-emptive block clinch and takedown method (hold back on right stick). If someone was doing it constantly, that meant they couldn't block high or low attacks.

#4 When selecting a fighter, their ratings don't tell you enough. In one of the old versions, stand-up was split into hand/leg strikes, and grappling was split into offensive/defensive categories. Also, why isn't speed or strength listed as an attribute?

#5 For CAF, I simply don't have the time and patience to build them up. There was once a WWF THQ game where you could create-a-fighter with a given number of attribute points. The default was set at 50 for various characteristics, and you had let's say 200 more to "spend" on size, speed, strength, striking, wrestling, etc. Could we have that here? That way all of the fighters would be have the same amount of skill, just distributed differently.

Even though the game does have some flaws, I love playing it and I appreciate the fact that the developers are trying to make it better with every iteration.

The developers and game changers have correctly pointed out how difficult it is to weed through the negativity and unspecific posts. If you like any or all of the above ideas, please second them in your following posts before moving on to your post. All of the above are easy to implement.

WHY you nerfed Parries? Parries even before patch 1.06 were hard enough to success... Parry has the same prons as sways and dodges but much more difficult.
So now if you nerfed their input its needed to buff Parries follow up strike (counter) dmg bonus! because parry dmg bonus (counter opportunity is the same as for sways and dodges).

You still get an A+ for Cyborg. She is top 3 of the best looking female fighters in the game.

THIS. AI is still veryyyyyyy easy. They still doesn't manage their stamia and very aggresive during whole a fight. Its really terrible.

Is he really that much of a stickler? Cyborg has jumping superman off the cage, and well , Liddell.

I just ko'D Miesha Tate in 13 secs on hard. Threw a jab. Backstepped. She rushed forward throwing wildly depleting all her stamina. Straight right left hook. Fight over. Sigh. On to Uncharted 4....
