The Jays improve to 22-3 on the season and continue their hot bats by destroying NL clubs the Padres, Giants, Cardinals, and Phillies. The team has welcomed a power surge by Brown, Bautista and newly acquired Matt Joyce, and even saw a PERFECT GAME from Henderson Alvarez, his 1st of his young career vs. Philly.

Game 22: Blue Jays 6, Padres 0:
W: Beachy (1-1) - 3IP 3H, 0ER, 3K
L: Richard (3-2) - 4.1IP 10H, 6ER, 1K
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/3 R
Ramirez - 2/3 R
Bautista - 1/3 HR(7), RBI, 2R, K
Howard - 1/3 RBI
Freese - 1/3 R
Lawrie - 2/2 HR(5), 4RBI, R

- The Jays continue to beast, getting a 3 inning 3 hit shutout by Beachy who gets win number 1 of the season finally. Bautista smacked a solo HR, and Lawrie's RBI single made it 2-0 Jays in the 1st. In the 3rd, Lawrie smacked a 3-Run HR to make it 5-0. The final inning would see a RBI single by Howard and that's all they would need to take it 6-0. Jon Jay was hurt in this game and sent to the 15-Day DL with a shoulder injury after making a spectacular catch in CF.

Game 23: Blue Jays 9, Giants 0:
W: Chacin (4-0) - 3IP 4H, 0ER, 1K
L: Baumgarner (1-3) - 1.2IP 5H, 5ER
Blue Jays:
Brown - 2/3 2-HR(1,2), 2RBI, 2R
Bautista - 1/3 HR(8), RBI, R
Howard - 2/3 R, 2B
Lawrie - 0/2 R, SB
Freese - 2/2 2RBI, R, 2-2B
Arencieba - 1/2 RBI, R
Barajas - 1/1 HR(1), 2RBI, R
Thames - 1/1 HR(2), RBI, R

- Wow, what an offensive output for Toronto. The team hit 5 home runs in the game including 2 from Domonic Brown who is really thriving in that lead off role. Chacin pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 4 hits. In the 2nd, Brown would hit a solo HR, Bautista would hit a solo HR, Freese hit a 2-Run double, and Arencieba would hit a RBI single to make it 5-0 Toronto. Next inning, Barajas would smack a 2-Run HR to make it 7-0 on his first of the year getting the start against the lefty. In the 4th, Thames would hit a solo HR, and Brown would hit another HR (his 2nd of the game) to finish the onslaught of San Francisco, 9-0.

Game 24: Blue Jays 4, Cardinals 0:
W: Jimenez (6-0) - 3IP 4H, 0ER, 2K
L: Lohse (2-1) - 4IP 6H, 4ER, 2K
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/2 HR(3), RBI, R
Bautista - 2/2 HR(9), RBI, R
Freese - 1/2 R
Joyce - 1/2 HR(1), 2RBI, R

- Toronto continued the power surge with another 3 HR, and behind Jimenez's 6th win of the season pitching 3 innings of 4 hit shutout ball. In the 2nd, Joyce would hit a 2-Run HR to make it 2-0. Next inning, Lohse would give up solo HR to Bautista and Brown (making it 3 in 3 games for Jose, and 3 in 2 games for Brown). That would be it as the Jays would take it 4-0.

Game 25: Blue Jays: 6, Phillies 0:
W: Alvarez (5-0) - 5IP, 0H, 0ER, 6K
L: Blanton (2-2) - 3IP 11H, 6ER, K
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 2/3 R
Lawrie - 1/3 R
Freese - 2/2 RBI, 2R, 2B
Joyce - 2/2 HR(2), 4RBI, 2R, 2B
Thames - 2/2 RBI

- Toronto finished off the NL squads in style with a PERFECT GAME from Henderson Alvarez who struck out 6 batters in a great performance. In the 2nd, Joyce smacked a 2-Run HR (2nd in as many games) to make it 2-0. Next inning, Freese would hit a RBI double, Joyce a 2-RBI double, and Thames a RBI single to make it 6-0 Jays to end it.

Top Performers - Games 22-25:
RF Jose Bautista (3HR, 3RBI, 5R)
CF Domonic Brown (3HR, 3RBI, 4R)

The Jays have lost CF Jon Jay for 30+ days with a shoulder injury. This now makes 2 Center fielders that are out long term. The team announced that they will use Domonic Brown as the teams primary CF, and newly acquired OF Matt Joyce in LF. Here is the trade:

- Toronto trades 2B Daniel Murphy to Tampa for OF Matt Joyce. Joyce was batting .200 with Tampa and needed a change of scenery. Murphy wouldn't get the playing time with Lawrie moving over to 2B, and the Rays needed a 2B because they are using Zobrist at SS. The team says when Jackson is back, they will use Joyce mainly as the teams DH, leaving Thames the odd man out again, unless he can impress the team. It looks like when Jackson gets back at the end of the season, we may see the Jays deal Thames, but only time will tell

* Note: Joyce hit his 1st HR of the year in his 2nd game of the year. Bautista has 3 HR in 3 games, and Brown has his 1st 3 HR of the year coming in 2 games - UPDATE COMING SOON*

Projected Lineup:
CF Domonic Brown
SS Hanley Ramirez
RF Jose Bautista
1B Ryan Howard
2B Brett Lawrie
3B David Freese
LF Matt Joyce
C JP Arencieba
DH Eric Thames

The Jays took advantage of some nice pitching, and the home run ball to improve to 18-3 on the season with 3 victories vs. Colorado, Yankees, and 2 vs. Tampa Bay. CF Austin Jackson was hurt in game 18 vs. Tampa and will be placed on the 60-Day DL.

Game 18: Blue Jays 2, Rays 0:
W: Chacin (3-0) - 4IP 2H, 1ER, 3K (SV: Santos)
L: Hellickson (2-2) - 4IP 5H, 2ER, BB, 2K
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/2 R, SB
Kendrick - 1/2 RBI
:Lawrie - 1/2 R, SB, K
Freese - 1/2 RBI
Rays:
Joyce - 0/2 RBI
Jennings - 2/2 R, 3B

- The Jays take a close victory vs. Tampa behind 4 innings of 2 hit 1 run ball from Chacin. Jennings hit a lead off triple off the wall, and Joyce scored him on a ground out to 1st. Next inning Kendrick's RBI single would tie it at 1. In the 3rd, Freese's RBI single would drive in Lawrie to end the scoring.

Game 19: Blue Jays 7, Yankees 0:
W: Jimenez (5-0) - 3IP 3H, 0ER, 1K
L: Kuroda (1-2) - 3.1IP 10H, 7ER, 3BB
Blue Jays:
Jay - 1/2 HR(1), RBI, 2R
Ramirez - 1/3 R
Bautista - 1/2 RBI, R, 2B, BB
Howard - 3/3 2-HR(4,5), 4RBI, 2R, 2B
Lawrie - 1/3 R, 2B
Freese - 1/3 RBI, 2B
Brown - 2/3 3B, SB
- The Jays pound the Yankees behind Jimenez's 5th win of the season pitching 3 innings of 4 hit shutout ball. The offense started in the 1st when Howard's RBI double made it 1-0. In the 3rd Howard would come alive again smacking a 2-Run HR to make it 3-0. In the 4th, Howard would hit a solo HR (his 2nd of the game), Jay would hit a solo HR (in for injured Jackson), Bautista would hit a RBI single, and Freese a RBI double to make it 7-0 and end Kuroda's night and the scoring.

Game 20: Blue Jays 2, Rays 0:
W: Alvarez (4-0) - 4IP 1H, 0ER, 3K
L: Cobb (1-3) - 5IP 2H, 2ER, 2K
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/2 R, SB
Bautista - 1/2 HR(6), 2RBI, R, K

- The Jays would take another close one of Tampa in a pitchers duel where Alvarez pitched a 1 hit shutout. The Jays however, would only manage 2 hits themselves. Brown would single and steal 2nd. Then Bautista would smack a 2-Run HR to make it 2-0 for a final score.

Game 21: Jays 4, Rockies 0:
W: Romero (3-1) - 4IP 2H, 0ER, 4K
L: Morrow (3-2) - 3.2IP 5H, 5ER, BB, K
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/3 R, 2B
Howard - 0/0 R, BB, HBP
Lawrie - 1/2 HR(4), 3RBI, R
Freese - 1/2 R, K
Arencieba - 1/2 HR(5), 2RBI, R

- The Jays get yet another shutout behind Romero's 4 innings of 2 hit ball. All the offense would come in the 4th inning when Lawrie hit a 3-Run HR, and Arencieba hit a 2-Run HR to make it 5-0 off old Jay's SP Morrow.

The Jays made a splash today, in a 3 way trade with Miami and NY Mets, acquiring disgruntled 3B/SS Hanley Ramirez . Hanley voiced his displeasure with Florida and wanted out somewhere where he would play SS. Here is the deal:

Toronto Trades: 2B Howie Kendrick, SS Yunel Escobar, RP Kyle McClellan
Toronto Gets: SS Hanley Ramirez, 2B Daniel Murphy

Miami Trades: SS Hanley Ramirez, CF Chris Couglan
Miami Gets: SS Yunel Escobar, 2B Howie Kendrick, RP Kyle McClellan

NY Mets Trade: 2B Daniel Murphy
NY Mets Get: CF Chris Couglan

- CF Austin Jackson has torn meniscus in his knee and will be out 48+ days and will be sent to the 60-Day DL. Ezequiel Carrera has been called up from AAA and CF Jon Jay will play the majority of CF, but Domonic Brown will also play CF and Thames LF.

- The Jays needed to ship off Escobar who hasn't been himself since his injury batting .190 and not making any contact or getting on base. Howie Kendrick has been nice defensively but only has 2 RBI and batting only .220. The Jays like having Hanley, Bautista, and Howard and look scary. Murphy will take over staring 2B but will give way to Thames in a time share where Lawrie will play 2B and Freese 3B. The Jays recall Joel Carreno from AAA to replace McClellan.

Projected Batting Order (After Injury/Trade):
LF/CF - Domonic Brown
SS - Hanley Ramirez
3B - Jose Bautista
1B - Ryan Howard
3B/2B - Brett Lawrie
DH/3B- David Freese
C - JP Arencieba
- Last 2 spots will be between 2B Daniel Murphy, DH/LF Eric Thames and CF Jon Jay.

The Jays came out strong winning the first 2 games vs, Seattle and Arizona, but losing to Weaver and the Angels 1-0, and a very tough loss of a blown save to Baltimore 7-4.

Game 14: Blue Jays 6, Mariners 0:
W: Jimenez (4-0) - 5IP 1H, 0ER, 3K
L: Iwakuma (1-2) - 5IP 10H, 4ER, 3K, 3BB
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/3 R, K
Kendrick - 1/3 RBI, R, 2B, K
Bautista - 2/3 R, 2B
Howard - 0/2 R, BB
Lawrie - 1/2 HR(3), 3RBI, 2R, SB, BB
Freese - 2/3 2RBI
Thames - 2/3 2-2B

- The Jays get the first game of the series vs. the Seattle team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season. They got a good start from Jimenez who pitched a 1 hit shutout, the game after Chacin's perfect game. The Jays started off the offense in inning 1 after a Lawrie 3-Run HR made it 3-0. The 3rd inning saw David Freese drive in a 2-RBI single to make it 5-0. In the 4th, Kendrick drove in his 1st RBI of the year with a single to finish it 6-0 Jays.

Game 15: Blue Jays 2, Diamondbacks 0:
W: Alvarez (3-0) - 3IP 5H, 0ER, K (SV: Santos, H: Cordero)
L: Enright (1-2) - 5IP 5H, 2ER, K
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 1/2 R
Howard - 2/2 HR(3), 2RBI, R, 2B

- The Jays take another victory on NL soil behind a 4 hit shutout by Alvarez. In the first, Ryan Howard's RBI double scored Bautista to make it 1-0. Later in the 4th, Howard would launch a solo HR to make it 2-0 and thats all they would need.

Game 16: Blue Jays 0, Angels 1:
W: Weaver (2-2) - 5IP 3H, 0ER, 2K
L: Romero (2-1) - 3IP 5H, 1ER, 4K
Angels:
Trout - 1/1 RBI, SF

- The Jays take the loss here and only managed 3 hits off Jared Weaver. The only run of the game came off Trouts RBI Sacrifice Fly in the 4th, and thats all LA would need to get the W.

Game 17: Blue Jays 4, Orioles 7:
W: Matusz (1-2) - 4IP 6H, 4ER, BB, K (SV: Johnson)
L: Santos (0-1) - 0.2IP 5H, 5ER, 1K
Blue Jays:
Freese - 2/2 HR(2), RBI, R
Lawrie - 1/2 R, 2B
Brown - 1/2 R
Arencieba - 1/1 HR(4), 3RBI, R, BB
Beachy - 3.1IP 2H, 1ER, K
Orioles:
Hardy - 1/3 RBI, R
Reynolds - 2/3 RBI, 2R, 2B, K
Jones - 1/3 RBI, R
Mahoney - 3/3 HR, 4RBI, R

- Wow, what a terrible loss and terrible luck for Beachy still looking for his 1st victory of the year. The Jays looked to have it wrapped up in the 5th with a 4-1 lead and Santos on the mound to close it out. The Jays started off the scoring in the 3rd with an Arencieba 3-Run HR to make it 3-0. In the 4th, rookie Mahoney hit a RBI single to make it 3-1. Freese in the same inning hit a solo HR to make it 4-1. With Santos in to close in the top of 5, he got hit around allowing RBI singles to Reynolds, Hardy, and Jones before getting yanked. Howell's first pitch to Mahoney was a 3-Run HR to make the game 7-4. Toronto couldn't bring it even in the bottom of 5, leaving the fans to go home disappointed with the outcome, and the 2 game loosing streak.

Top Players - Games 14-17:
Brett Lawrie (1HR, 3RBI, 3R, SB
Ryan Howard (1HR, 2RBI, 2R)
David Freese (1HR, 3RBI, R)
Ubaldo Jimenez (5IP 1H, 0ER, 3K)

The Jays continue their fantastic start improving their record to 12-1 on the season. This set of games saw Chacin throw a PERFECT GAME...his 2nd in 2 seasons with Toronto. Bautista also continued his bid for consecutive MVP's hitting 2 HR which gives him 5 on the year.

Game 10: Blue Jays 3, White Sox 1:
W: Alvarez (2-0) - 3.1IP 2H, 1ER, K (SV: Santos, H: Howell)
L: Peavy (0-2) - 5IP 4H, 3ER, BB, K
Blue Jays:
Howard - 1/2 R
Lawrie - 1/2 HR(2), 2RBI, R
Freese - 1/2 R
Escobar - 0/2 R
White Sox:
Konerko - 2/2 HR, RBI, R, 2B

- The Jays take this one behind a nice 2 hit performance from Alvarez. His only mistake came in the 1st inning on a solo HR to 1B Konerko, 1-0 Sox. The Jays start the 3rd with a bang behind a RBI single from Ryan Howard, and a 2-Run HR from Brett Lawrie to make it 3-1 and end the scoring.

Game 11: Blue Jays 6, Red Sox 0:
W: Romero (2-0) - 3IP 4H, 0ER, 4K (H: Cordero)
L: Lester (0-2) - 4.2IP 11H, 6ER
Blue Jays:
Kendrick - 2/3 R
Bautista - 2/3 HR(4), RBI, 2R
Freese - 2/3 RBI, R, 2B
Arencieba - 1/3 HR(2), RBI, R
Brown - 1/3 2RBI, R, 2B
Thames - 1/3 RBI, 2B

- The Jays take revenge on Boston for the loss they suffered last game behind a 4 hit shutout by Ricky Romero. The offense didnt start until the 3rd, when Bautista hit a solo HR to make it 1-0. Next inning, Freese hit a RBI doubled off the green monster to make it 2-0. In the 5th, Arencieba would hit a solo HR, Brown would hit a 2 RBI double, and Thames would hit a RBI single to make it 6-0 Jays and thats how it would end.

Game 12: Blue Jays 3, Rangers 2:
W: Janssen (1-0) - 2IP 2H, 0ER, 2K
L: Darvish (0-3) - 4IP 7H, 3ER, BB, K
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 2/3 HR(5), RBI, R
Lawrie - 1/2 R
Thames - 1/1 HR(1), 2RBI, R
Beachy - 3IP 5H, 2ER, 4K
Rangers:
Kinsler - 1/3 RBI, K
Cruz - 1/2 RBI, K

- This was a great game. Brandon Beachy continued his rough start to the season getting pulled after 3 innings allowing 2 runs to Texas and recording the no decision. The 2 runs game off Kinsler, and Cruz RBI singles to make it 2-0 Rangers after 3. The next inning, Thames would come in to pinch hit, and it would be a marvelous decision as he smacked a 2-Run HR , his 1st of the season, to tie it 2-2. In the bottom of the 5th, Bautista comes through again with a Walk Off solo HR to win the game for Toronto.

Game 13: Blue Jays 4, Twins 0
W: Chacin (2-0) - 5IP 0H, 0ER, 4K
L: Sanchez (1-2) - 4IP 6H, 4ER, BB, K
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 2/2 R, SB
Howard - 1/2 RBI, R
Freese - 1/2 HR(1), 2RBI, R, K
Arencieba - 1/2 HR(3), RBI, R

- The Jays continue their power surge behind a PERFECT GAME for Chacin, who now has a perfect game in consecutive seasons with Toronto. He struck out 4 in his effort and improved his record to 2-0. The offense started in the 2nd on a Arencieba solo HR to make it 1-0. Next inning Ryan Howard's RBI single, and Freese's 2-Run HR, his 1st of the year ended it at 4-0.

Top Players - Games 10-13:
Jose Bautista (2HR, 2RBI, 3R)
JP Arencieba (2HR, 2RBI, 2R)

The Jays improve their record to 8-1, with the only loss of the first month of the season coming to Boston again. The team has been up and down with the bat for the 1st month, and 2B Howie Kendrick is really struggling so far this season (See Stats). Jimenez went for 2 wins in his 2 Blue Jays games, 1 against his former team the Indians in game 9.

Game 4: Blue Jays 6, Angels 0:
W: Jimenez (2-0) - 4IP 2H, 0ER, 6K
L: Santana (0-1) - 3.2IP 10H, 6ER, BB
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/3 R, SB
Kendrick - 1/3 R, SB
Bautista - 2/3 HR(2), 3RBI, 2R, 2B
Howard - 2/2 RBI, R, 2B, BB
Lawrie - 1/3 RBI, K
Freese - 2/2 RBI, 2B, SB
Arencieba - 1/2 R, 2B
Jimenez - 4IP, 2H, 0ER, 6K

- The Jays really poured on a nice performance against LA under a very nice start from Jimenez in his 1st game with Toronto. He pitched 4 innings, allowing only 1 hit, and striking out 6. The offense started in inning 1, when RBI singles by Howard, and Lawrie made it 2-0. Next inning, the strategy to acquire Howard so Bautista don't get walked as much paid off. With men on 2nd and 3rd, Bautista wasn't walked and drilled a 3-Run HR out to make it 5-0. In the 4th, Freese hit a RBI single to make it 6-0 and end the scoring.

Game 5: Blue Jays 3, Royals 0:
W: Alvarez (1-0) - 3.1IP 2H, 0ER (SV: Santos, H: Howell)
L: DeJesus (0-1) - 4IP 6H, 3ER, BB, K
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/2 R, SB
Bautista - 2/2 HR(3), 3RBI, R
Escobar - 1/2 R

- The Jays get another shutout victory, this one coming behind Alvarez who pitched 3.1 innings of 2 hit shutout ball. In the 1st, Bautista hit a RBI single to make it 1-0. In the 3rd he came through again with a 2-Run HR, his 2nd in as many games, and third on the year. That would be all she wrote, 3-0 Jays.

Game 6: Blue Jays 1, Rays 0:
W: Romero (1-0) - 4IP 1H, 0ER, 4K (SV: Santos)
L: Price (0-2) - 5IP 4H, 1ER, 3K
Blue Jays:
Lawrie - 1/2 R, SB
Brown - 1/2 RBI

- 3 games, 3 shutouts. You knew this would probably be 1-0 with 2 all star lefties on the mound in Price and Romero. Romero got the better end pitching 4 innings and only allowing 1 hit while fanning 4. The only offense came when Lawrie singled, stole 2nd, and was driven home by a Domonic Brown RBI single. Thats all the Jays would need to take the 1-0 victory.

Game 7: Blue Jays 0, Boston 5:
W: Beckett (2-0) - 5IP 3H, 0ER
L: Beachy (0-1) - 3IP, 5H, 2ER, 1K
Red Sox:
Gonzalez - 1/3 HR, 3RBI, R
Pedroia - 1/2 HR, RBI, R
Ortiz - 2/3, HR, RBI, R

- Well we knew all good things would come to an end. The Jays could only manage 3 hits vs. Beckett, and Boston scored all their runs off Homers. In the 1st, Pedroia hit a solo HR, and in the 3rd Ortiz hit a solo HR. Gonzalez ended the scoring by hitting a 3-Run HR off Veras in the 5th to finish the game 5-0 Sox.

Game 8: Blue Jays 2, Athletics 1 (7 Innings):
W: Villanueva (2-0) - 2IP 0H, 0ER, 2K
L: Braden (1-1) - 6IP 6H, 2ER, 4K, BB
Blue Jays:
Lawrie - 1/3 HR(1), RBI, R
Arencieba - 1/2 HR(1), RBI, R
Chacin - 5IP 2H, 1ER, 2K
Athletics:
Smith - 1/2 RBI, K

- The Jays take a great game in 7 innings off a walk off HR by Brett Lawrie. The fans loved that the Canadian Kid won it for them. Chacin went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on only 2 hits, and fanning 2 in the no decision. There was no score until the top of 5, when After a Taylor double, and steal of 3rd Seth Smith hit a RBI Single to make it 1-0. The bottom of the 5th, saw JP Arencieba smack his 1st HR of the year, a solo shot to tie it 1-1. We would stay tied until the bottom of 7 when Lawrie smacked a walk off HR to win it 2-1 for Toronto.

Game 9: Blue Jays 3, Indians 0:
W: Jimenez (3-0) - 3IP 4H, 0ER, 4K (SV: Santos, H: Cordero)
L: Gomez (0-2) - 5IP 10H, 3ER, 4BB, 2K
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 1/3 R
Howard - 2/3 R, 2B, K
Lawrie - 2/2 2RBI, R, BB
Escobar - 1/2 RBI, K

- The Jays take the last game of the month with another Jimenez shutout vs. the team he was just traded from. He pitched 3 innings allowing 4 hits and striking out 4 in the shutout. Hes now allowed 6 hits, 0 runs, and struck out 10 in 2 games with Toronto. The offense started in the 2nd when Lawrie 2 RBI single made it 2-0. The only other offense was in the 5th, when Escobar drove in a RBI single to make it 3-0.

The Jays make another big move today, dealing SP Cory Luebke, 3B Valentino Bochy (Last Years 1st Round Pick), and C Melvin Chavez (AAA) to Cleveland for SP Ubaldo Jimenez, LF Ezequiel Carrera, and C Lou Marson. Jimenez was looking for a trade from Cleveland, and Toronto came with a great offer, giving Cleveland a nice SP in Luebke back plus last years 1st round pick for the Jays in Bochy. Toronto was looking to get another potential star SP, and Carrera, and Marson will be sent to AAA and play for a call up in case of injury, and Marson should be the backup Catcher next season when Barajas is gone.

- SS Yunel Escobar is finally back with the big club. Yuniesky Betancourt was sent down to AAA.
Posted on March 28, 2012 at 03:29 PM.
The Jays start off the year with a 3-0 record, winning 1 blowout game against the White Sox 9-2, but getting 2 close games against Texas 4-3 in the 5th, and Baltimore in the 7th inning, when the Jays bats came alive to take it 5-1 after a 1-1 game going into 2 extra innings. Ryan Howard has been a beast in the first 3 games picking up 2 home runs, while Bautista, and Jackson have also went deep so far in this young season. Pitching has looked rough so far, as Romero started where he left off in his loss vs. Seattle in the playoffs with a poor outing vs. Texas. Beachy, and Chacin haven't looked great either but its only the first start. SS Maicer Izturis has been injured in game 2, and will be out 11 days with a sore elbow. Betancourt was called up from AAA to play while hes out, but will be sent back down very shortly, when Escobar gets back from his rehab stint in AAA (he should be back by game 5).

Game 1: Blue Jays 4, Rangers 3:
W: Villanueva (1-0), L: Ogando (0-1), SV: Santos (1)
Blue Jays:
Kendrick - 2/3 2R, K
Bautista - 2/3 RBI, R, 2B
Howard - 2/3 HR(1), 3RBI, R, K
Romero - 3IP 7H, 3ER, 2K
Rangers:
Kinsler - 1/3 RBI, K
Cruz - 3/3 HR, 2RBI, R
Felix - 3.2IP 6H, 3ER, 4K

- The Jays, and Romero started off terrible. In inning 1, Cruz blasted a 2-Run HR off Romero to make it 2-0. The next inning, Kinsler's RBI single made it 3-0 and it looked bad for the Jays early as they couldn't hit Feliz's 100MPH fastball. It wasn't until inning 4, when after Kendrick and Bautista both singled, Ryan Howard stepped up and showed why the Jays wanted him, drilling a 3-Run HR over the fence to tie the game 3-3. Next inning, Bautista came through in the clutch doubling home Kendrick to take the 4-3 lead. Santos would come in to pitch the bottom of the 5th, and that would be it.

Game 2: Blue Jays 5, Orioles 1 (7 Innings):
W: Cordero (1-0), L: Matusz (0-1)
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/4 HR(1), RBI, R
Freese - 3/3 R
Lawrie - 1/3 R
Jay - 0/0 R, SB
Barajas - 1/1 2RBI, R, 2B
Brown - 2/3 2RBI
Beachy - 3IP 4H, 1ER, 4K
Orioles:
Markakis - 1/3 RBI
Matusz - 6.2IP 10H, 5ER

- The Jays take another tough match, where the bench came in and won it for them in a 4 run 7th inning. Beachy got off to a rocky start allowing 4 hits including a Markakis to single home a run and make it 1-0 early. He would settle down and play 2 more shutout innings. In the 4th, Domonic Brown's RBI single tied the game after Jon Jay was subbed in for Arencieba to pinch run, and stole 2nd base. There was no more action until the top of the 7th, when Barajas came in to pinch hit, and drove a double to the wall scoring 2 runs. Brown would get up a hit an RBI single to score Barajas, and Jackson would drive a solo HR to center field to make it 5-1, game over.

Game 3: Blue Jays 9, White Sox 2:
W: Chacin (1-0), L: Danks (0-1)
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/3 RBI
Bautista - 2/3 HR(1), RBI, 2R
Howard - 3/3 HR(2), 2RBI, 3R
Freese - 1/3 R
Lawrie - 1/3 R
Arencieba - 2/3 4RBI, 3B, R
Brown - 2/3 RBI, R, 2-SB
Chacin - 3IP 4H, 2ER, 2K
White Sox:
Ramirez - 1/2 2RBI
Danks - 3.2IP 9H, 5ER, BB

- This game was an offensive explosion for Toronto. In the 1st, Bautista hit a solo HR, to make it 1-0. Next inning, Brown hit an RBI single, and Jackson an RBI single to make it 3-0. The 3rd inning saw Chicago try and come back with Ramirez's 2-RBI single to make it 3-2, but Toronto would explode in the same inning, starting with a Ryan Howard 2-Run HR, and Arencieba's 3-RBI triple with the bases loaded to make it 8-2. In the 5th, Arencieba would drive in another with a RBI single to finish the score at 9-2.

Top 5 Players - Game's 1-3:
1B Ryan Howard (2HR, 5RBI, 4R)
RF Jose Bautista (1HR, 2RBI, 3R, 2B)
LF Domonic Brown (0HR 3RBI, 1R, 2-SB)
C JP Arencieba (0HR, 4RBI, 3B, R)
SP Brandon Beachy (3IP, 4H, 1ER, 4K)

* The fans wanted a shake up so here it is...going all in for this season while still keeping future somewhat intact. Last season's result wasn't good enough.*

3 DEALS TO START THE SEASON (BLOCKBUSTER):
- The Blue Jays have made a blockbuster move which will shake up the team sending 1B Adam Lind, DH Carlos Quentin, and LF Trayvon Robinson to Philly for 1B Ryan Howard, and LF Domonic Brown. The Jays wanted a scary bat behind Bautista and man oh man did they get it acquiring Howard. They had to give up newly signed DH Quentin and young LF Robinson, but get a great young OF back in Brown.

- The Jays make a 2nd trade, involving a sign a trade where they sent 2B Kelly Johnson, and AAA Prospect RF Jeff Powell to the Angels for 2B Howie Kendrick. The team wanted more of a contact hitter who could play more positions and get that with Kendrick.

- The 3rd and final deal, the Jays traded big Prospect C Travis d'Arnaud, CF Franklin Gutierrez, SS Elliot Johnson (AAA) to the Cardinals for 3B David Freese, CF Jon Jay, SS Yuniesky Betancourt. Toronto was looking to unload one of their C and was expected to be Arencieba, but the team liked the return they got for D'Arnaud getting a nice bat in Freese and a better CF option off the bench than Gutierrez and his 9 M contract. Betancourt will take over SS in the minors and was sent to AAA. The Jays signed C Rod Barajas to backup Catcher.

Wow, after a dominate season, the Jays come out and lose the game in round 1 vs. Seattle. The Mariners roughed Romero up as he was chased from the game after allowing 9 hits in 1 inning, allowing 5 runs. The Jays would get a solo HR from Bautista and a RBI single by Johnson, but it wasn't enough as the team gets upset and are out already. There will be many questions going into the offseason, and the fans are already speaking out about Romero pitching over Chacin dominate year.

Round 1: Blue Jays 2, Mariners 5:
W: Vargas, L: Romero, SV: Camp
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 2/2 HR, RBI, 2R, 2B
Johnson - 1/2 RBI
Romero - 1IP 9H, 5ER, 2K
Mariners:
Montero - 2/4 RBI, R
Carp - 1/3 RBI, R
Smoak - 2/3 2RBI
Olivo - 1/3 RBI
Vargas - 4IP 4H, 2ER, 2K

NEXT: OFFSEASON!
Posted on March 26, 2012 at 03:38 PM.
Wow, this is a piss off....Escobar after coming off the DL went on a rehab stint to AAA but their season was done, and now I can't get Escobar back up to the big club for Playoffs due to an EPIC FAILED BUG FOR 2K12 lol Anyways looks like unless i figure out how to fix it, Omar Vizquel is going to start SS.

- The last 5 games of the season seen the Jays win 2 (vs. Yankees Twins, and Baltimore) and lose 2 (vs. Yankees, Rays). The team used all reserves and the 1st 2 games lose both in shutout's as the team couldn't get any runs together. Drabek got knocked around for 6 ER including 2 HR from Upton vs. Tampa. The other loss came in the bottom of the 5th to the Yankees in a 1-0 loss. The 3rd game vs. Baltimore, saw Vizquel's Sacrifice Fly to score Valbuena the only run for a 1-0 win. The next game against New York was also a 1-0 win, with the run coming off a solo HR by Valbuena. The last game of the season I used all the regular players, and won 4-0 behind a shutout from Brad Penny. A 2-Run HR from Young, and a 2 RBI single from Jackson was the offense.

Playoff Preview:
The Seattle Mariner's played a tie breaker game vs. the Red Sox, and the Mariners came away with the victory to eliminate Boston. The 1st round of the playoffs for Toronto will be against Seattle, a team that has beat them once, and two wins from the Blue Jays which were 1 run, and 2 run victories. This 1 game win or go home series (how I like playoffs in sports games) will be very interesting, as the Jays will need to play like they have all year to get the win. Rickey Romero will go vs. Seattle, likely against Felix Hernandez.

IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS REHAB STINT BUG PLEASE COMMENT

The Jays took 2 games vs. the Red Sox including 1 in extra innings, where Call Up Ben Francisco got the winning run. They also beat Baltimore, and Seattle as well. Game 47 was the last 1 for Johnson, Lind, Bautista, Jackson, Escobar (Off DL), Young, Arencieba, and Lawrie. The full lineup for the next 5 games will be with September call ups since the team has clinched 1st place. Escobar is off the DL as well and will be shut down for the rest of the season to rest for playoffs.

Game 44: Blue Jays 5, Orioles 0:
W: Romero (5-2), L: Chen (6-4)
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 2/3 R, SB
Young - 1/3 2RBI, K
Bautista - 1/3 R

Lawrie - 1/2 RBI
Vizquel - 1/2 R
Romero - 3.1IP 7H, 0ER, 5K
Orioles:
Chen - 1IP 7H, 5ER, BB

-
The Jays continue their streak, behind 3.1 innings of 7 hit 0 run ball from Romero who finally got back on track. Lind hit a 2-Run HR in the 2nd to break his streak of 16 games without a homer. Delmon Young hit a 2 RBI single to make it 4-0 next inning. Last inning, Lawrie singled home a run to make it 5-0.

Game 45: Blue Jays 1, Red Sox 0:
W: Chacin (8-2), L: Beckett (5-4), SV: Santos (15)
Blue Jays:
Robinson - 1/2 HR(7), RBI, R
Chacin - 4.1IP 2H, 0ER, 2K
Red Sox:
Beckett - 5IP 4H, 1ER, 1K

- The Jays take a close one here behind another marvelous performance from Chacin going 4.1 innings allowing only 2 hits and fanning 2.The only offense came in inning 4, when Trayvon Robinson smacked a solo HR to make it 1-0, his 7th of the year. That would be it as it would be the only run of the game.

Game 46: Blue Jays 3, Mariners 1:
W: Alvarez (8-1), L: Iwakuma (5-4), SV: Santos (16)
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 1/2 HR(14), 2RBI, R
Arencieba - 2/2 HR(8), RBI, R
Vizquel - 1/2 R
Alvarez - 3IP 4H, 1ER, 2K
Mariners:
Olivo - 1/2 RBI, K
Iwakuna - 4IP 8H, 3ER, K

- Another win, and the team keeps chugging behind obviously the rookie of the year with his 8th win allowing only 1 run on 4 hits over 3 innings while striking out 2. Arencieba hit a solo HR in the 2nd, while Olivo hit a RBI single to tie it 1-1. In the 4th, Jose Bautista came through again smacking a 2-Run HR making it 3-1.

Game 47: Blue Jays 2, Red Sox 1 (7 Innings):

Beachy - 4IP 6H, 1ER, 3K
Red Sox:
Gonzalez - 1/3 RBI, 2B
Bard - 6.1IP 6H, 2ER, 2BB, K

- Another nail biter vs. Boston see's the Jays get the win in extra innings. Beachy pitched 4 innings of 6 hit, 1 run ball, fanning 3 in the no decision. Gonzalez hit a RBI single in 1st to make it 1-0. In the bottom of the 5th, after Lawrie singled, stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on a grounder, Arencieba hit a sacrifice fly to tie it 1-1. In the bottom of the 7th, the Jays turned to call up Ben Francisco vs. a Lefty, who came through with a RBI single to win it for Toronto.

The Jays improve to 35-8, but lost their 1st game vs. the Tigers in a close 3-2 match. They got victories against Baltimore, Yankees, and Tampa Bay however. In the win vs. New York, Brandon Beachy pitched a PERFECT GAME, the 2nd for the Jays this season. Its September 1st so now its time for the Call Ups. The team called up OF Ben Francisco, 1B David Cooper, 2B Luis Valbuena, and RP Joel Carreno. The Jays are expecting to give their starters breaks regularly now, especially since there are 9 games left I would think we will see the stars sat for the last 5 games resting for playoffs to prevent injury.

Game 40: Blue Jays 2, Tigers 3:
W: Fister (4-5), L: Chacin (7-2), SV: Valverde
Blue Jays:
Bautista - 2/3 RBI
Robinson - 2/2 HR(6), RBI, R
Gutierrez - 0/0 R, SB
Chacin - 3IP, 5H, 2ER, 3K
Tigers:
Fielder - 1/2 RBI, K
Cabrera - 2/2 2RBI
Fister - 4.2IP 9H, 2ER

- The Jays seem to struggle against Detroit, losing this one 3-2 despite getting 9 hits off of Fister. Chacin got his 1st loss since the 1st month of the season after a 3 inning 5 hit, 2 run game. Fielder got it started in the 1st with an RBI single. In the 3rd, Cabrera, hit a 2-RBI single to make it 3-0. The Jays made it close after a Trayvon Robinson solo HR, and a Bautista RBI single but couldn't get any closer losing 3-2.

Game 41: Blue Jays 6, Orioles 1:
W: Alvarez (7-1), L: Bundy (1-5)
Blue Jays:
Jackson - 1/3 R, 2B, K
Young - 3/3 2RBI, R, 2B
Lind - 2/3 RBI, R, 2B
Johnson - 1/3 RBI, R, 2B
Robinson - 0/1 R, SB, BB
Thames - 1/1 2RBI, R
Alvarez - 3IP 3H, 1ER, 3K
Orioles:
Jones - 1/2 RBI
Bundy - 4IP 9H, 6ER, BB, 2K

- The Jays end their mini 2 game losing streak by beating up the Orioles behind Alvarez 3 inning, 3 hit, 1run game fanning 3. Alvarez has been great this year in his rookie season with a 7-1 record. The Jays started it off in the 1st as Lind hit an RBI double to make it 1-0. The Orioles in the same inning got an RBI single from Adam Jones to make it 1-1. There was no action until the 4th when Delmon Young hit a 2RBI double, Johnson an RBI double, and Eric Thames (as a pinch hitter) driving in 2 RBI with a single to finish the game 6-1.

Game 42: Blue Jays 5, Yankees 0:
