ACQB M10 Week 2 Summary - Steelers (CreatineKasey) vs. Bears (kosch2635)
Posted on August 23, 2009 at 10:11 PM.
Steel Curtain Carries Pit. to Victory

PIT 19
CHI 0

The Bears faced an uphill battle immediately after the 2nd play of the game. Matt Forte left with an injury and was not able to return. (Note: He will return week 3) From there, the game remained physical and sloppy for both teams. There were 11 combined punts and 4 combined turnovers. Multiple injuries occurred over the course of this physical game.

The Steeler D took care of business in week 2 and single-handedly won the game. Lamarr Woodley scored the first points of the game on a safety. Ike Taylor (EA's Player of the Game) jumped on an errant throw and returned it for a TD in the 2nd half to seal the game.

Cutler had a very difficult game all around. He had no time to throw, being sacked 4 times and being hit while he threw numerous other times. The Chicago receivers just couldn't compete with Pittsburgh's secondary today. The Bears offense needed a TD out of Devin Hester somewhere in order to compete in this game, and that just didn't happen.

Big Ben managed the game well and kept his turnovers down to just 1, although he did fumble on top of his interception. Tommie Harris was a complete monster, registering 3 sacks and 1 FF on the day. He single-handedly ended 3 drives for Pittsburgh.

Lawrence Timmons had his 2nd game leading the team in tackles with 5 solo, including 2 vicious sacks off playaction. DB's Taylor, Polamalu, and Clark all had INT's. Woodley had his 2nd game in a row with a sack. Pittsburgh held the Bears to under 50 yards of total offense.

This was a complete 180 degree turnaround from the week before for this Steeler defense. This team is complete and can win from either side of the ball, which is what you'd expect out of the defending champs.

GG Kosch! Tough break with the injury. That was probably the one guy you couldn't lose. GL next week!

Very tough day for the Bears, indeed! Your LB wreak havoc--they're all fast, strong, and smart. I actually have to come to PIT later in the year, and I'm not looking forward to it, lol.

Congratulations, by the way, on the year's first shutout!
