ACQB Week 3 Summary: Steelers (CreatineKasey) vs. Bengals (LeDd51)

Steelers Hold onto First Half Lead to Start Year 3-0

Willie Parker Broke a 41 yard TD on the opening drive to give Pittsburgh the lead. The Steelers then continued to dominate the first half of football putting together multiple long, powerful drives. Cincy made a fatal error within 2 minutes of halftime, throwing a screen pass into cover 2 hard defense. It was returned for a TD. Pittsburgh went into the half up 24-3.

The second half was dominated by the Bengals and their short passing offense. Ike Hilliard was unstoppable, obtaining 9 catches for 114 yards. The Bengals committed another fatal error - they fumbled the ball at the 1 yard line (3rd and 1) which was recovered by Pittsburgh. Soon after they obtained a safety, but that doesn't make up for the potential TD. Cincy tacks on one more TD on a long drive in the 4th quarter, but it was a bit too late.

If it wasn't for the two large turnovers, this game wouldn't have been settled in regulation.

Player of the game - Randall Gay for his 14 yard pick-six. Pittsburgh has 3 INT-TD's in 3 games played so far this year. They also went 10 quarters straight without giving up a TD.

GG LedD! My Steeler D really made some great opportunities for me. GL next week.

Man, your defense is solid. Surprising that Hilliard had such an eruption of productivity. I'm assuming he went over the middle a fair bit . . . does he catch well in traffic?

@ AW: at one point I was doubling Hilliard! He worked the slot the whole second half. Townsend couldn't cover him 1 on 1, and he'd just stick little seam passes in there against zone. Palmer's arm is a weapon.
