Bulls survive Legends

Final Score: 35-31 Creatine

This game had everything, besides defense. It was your typical shootout. Our legendary runningbacks (Emmitt Smith and Marcus Allen) combined for 7 touchdowns in this game. It came down to the wire. With less than a minute left AmericasTeam regained the lead scoring on a 4 yard counter play. To get there he converted a clutch 3rd and 2 throwing to the flats to Smith who rumbled for 20.

Iron Pull off Shocker at Home Against Great Whites

(note: Because of technical issues I don't have exact stats to describe and my memory may not be 100% correct.)

Jim Hart failed all game. His confidence was shot. He threw 3 interceptions, and really choked at the important times. Chris Warren broke 1 big run for a TD and that was it. The Iron were playing very sloppy on offense and the defense just couldn't keep bailing them out.

4th quarter = ... Read More

Iron Stay Hot in Charlotte

The Pittsburgh Iron jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, giving the Savages a single possession which resulted in a punt. The offense was efficient and the defense was fierce. MVP frontrunner Barry Sanders was held to 100 yards on 22 carries and did not score rushing for the first time this season. He still threw a great touchdown pass out of a wildcat variation. Average starting field position: Iron: Own 46 Savages: Own 21.

Iron Steamroll Past Warthogs

When it rains it pours. The Iron barely squeaked out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the half on a QB sneak with 3 seconds left. This momentum snowballed to 2 pick-sixes which created an insurmountable deficit in the third quarter. The Warthogs didn't have much of an opportunity to move the ball after their first couple of drives, of which the first ended in an interception in the redzone. The momentum was in full swing this game.

Iron Hang on Against Great Whites

The second meeting between these two OS South division rivals was within 7 points up until late in the 4th quarter. Both teams made sharp throws and played smart football. Proof of this is the lone two passes defended in the whole game and zero turnovers overall. The difference in the game was a 4th and inches in the Great White's gray area (30-40 yard line) which was an ISO to Megget that was stuffed by the Iron. The Great Whites did score late ... Read More

Iron Inch out Win against Rival Storm in Pittsburgh

This game had a similar ending by the numbers, but played completely differently the whole way through. In the first game the Iron got ahead early and rode their momentum to barely hang on to win. In this game the Storm matched every Iron play blow for blow. It was another very tightly played game. Mistakes were rare, and ones that happened were punished harshly.

The Iron held the lead midway through the 4th ... Read More

Goats Survive the Storm One Final Time to Win Championship

Score: 21-14

This game had everything a championship game was supposed to have. Solid tackling, flawless adjustments, perfect passes, and an ending that left the winner glad it was over and the loser second guessing his final steps. It was that close. The Storm managed to drive the field in the final minutes of the 4th quarter down 1 point. They had to convert multiple third downs and a 4th and 4. In the end ... Read More

Iron Hold on to Win Streak Against Hungry Warthogs

The score was 24-17. The yards were nearly identical. 122 rushing for the Iron, 123 for the Warthogs. 187 Passing for the Iron, 131 for the Warthogs. Both teams had zero turnovers. This game was a tight hard-fought battle up until the clock read all zeros. Explosive plays by the Iron, Dwight Clark in particular, ended up being the difference in this game.

On offense Clark racked up 5 catches for 122 yards and ... Read More

Iron Stay Hot in Win Over Renegades

The Pittsburgh Iron came flying out of the gates racking up 21 points in the first quarter. Big plays just seemed to break open one after another. Soon after the Renegades caught their breath, made some plays of their own, and put this thing within 1 score for the majority of it. Pittsburgh jumping ahead really put the pace in their hands and let them avoid mistakes on offense especially in the second half, just choosing not to take risks. ... Read More

Savages and Iron Collide in Charlotte

This game was a hard hitting battle throughout it's entirety. Both teams were able to follow their gameplans on offense for the most part. What ended up deciding the game was third downs. The Savages were 0 for 6 on 3rd downs and just had to live off the big run play. Even though Charlotte chewed up 200+ yards rushing, they couldn't mix in enough passing to string together long drives.

On the offensive side of the ball ... Read More

Iron Roll in Early Season Rout

This game opened just like a track meet, chalking up three scores in the first three plays. From then on Iron dominated every facet of the game aside from Special teams. Al Del Greco played terribly in 10 MPH winds kicking 1 of 3 FG's and missing an extra point.

The Iron accumulated 400 yards of total offense achieving supreme balance. They had 200 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. Chris Warren led the charge with 205 yards on ... Read More

Goats Defense Belittles Mighty Stallions
In the Stallions opening drive, the Goats were audibling out of a defense which left the whole defense in disarray. The Stallions recognized this and quickly snapped the ball with intentions of attacking the mismatch. Instead, Derrick Thomas FLIES through the A gap, forces a fumble on Len Dawson! Chuck Bednarik (loose ball magnet) FLIES into the screen, scoops up the ball, and takes the ball 40 yards for the ... Read More

Iron Hang on to Win with Last Second Field Goal Against the Great Whites

The game was relatively tame up until the fourth quarter, then all hell broke loose. It was 10-10 going into the fourth. 20 combined points were scored in 3 quarters and 31 combined points were scored in the fourth quarter alone. This game turned into a shootout late. Back and forth we went.

At the beginning of the 4th quarter Chris Warren capped off a drive with a 3 yard TD, his first of the ... Read More

Iron Hold on Against Late-brewing Storm
This game felt all-but wrapped up in the 3rd Quarter with the Iron sitting comfortably on a 24-7 lead and a workhorse RB in Chris Warren who was brought to Pittsburgh for this exact reason: to end games. The Storm just had a field goal blocked to keep the score at 24-7 and everything looked good. Cunningham and the Storm had other ideas. Randall and the crew EXPLODE in the 4th quarter. They racked up yards ... Read More
