Preview:

Coming off of a sweep of the Indiana Pacers, the Washington Wizards are running on all cylinders right now. But make no mistake, the Miami Heat are nothing like the Indiana Pacers. Last year, the Wizards upset the Heat in the first round and in doing so exposed Miami's weakness. That being a lack of depth at the C and PF positions. In 2012-2013 the Wizards were able to make big runs while Chris Bosh (PF) and Michael Chandler (C) sat on the bench. Miami immediately fixed this problem, drafting Marshall Plumlee (C) with their 2013 1st Round Pick as well as trading for Andrei Kirilenko (SF/PF). Both will have to hold down the fort while Miami's starting unit rests.

Washington is also improved however, adding all-star Danny Granger at the trade deadline as well as the signing of Josh Smith in the offseason. The Wizards now have a "Big 3" of their own. The star of Washington's big 3 is John Wall, who promises to come with his very best after feeling snubbed by the Voters in the MVP race.

Recap:

Overtime right out of the gate in game 1. Washington was able to fight back after getting outplayed in the 1st Quarter and get the game into overtime where a John Wall jumpshot with 14 seconds to play gave the Wizards the win. LeBron scored 39 points, but failed to connect on his most important shot of the game, a 3 point attempt at the buzzer that would've won the game.

John Wall wins Wizards Player of the Game for his triple double and his defense. His solid performance guarding Dwyane Wade goes unnoticed on the box score, but not to the people watching.

Recap:

Unlike Game 1, which was up in the air until the last second, Game 2 was never close. Dwyane Wade played better than he did in Game 1 but the Heat were badly out-rebounded again and have yet to stop John Wall.

Wall will again get player of the game for his 34 points in 34 minutes. The Wizards were up by nearly 20 when he came out of the game halfway through the 4th Quarter.

Recap:

A tale of 2 shooting performances in Game 3. Miami shot awful from the field while Washington couldn't miss. However, despite the 3-0 series lead the Wizards came out of this game feeling down. Both Danny Granger and Kentavious Caldwell sprained their ankles in the 3rd quarter. Both were held out for the rest of the game but will be able to play through the injuries. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James have to like their chances in Game 4.

John Wall wins his 3rd consecutive Player of the Game award after scoring 30 again. He has not dropped under 30 points so far in this series.

Recap:

Someone forgot to tell the Referees that the fans don't come to see them. There was a combined 93 free throws attempted in a non-overtime game. Aside from that atrocity, the Miami Heat got their first win in the series due in part to their 44 rebounds. Game 4 marked the first time in the series the Heat outrebounded the Wizards.

Tyler Hansbrough will win Wizards Player of the Game. He very nearly had a double double off of the bench. In a game where John Wall had an off night shooting, someone needed to step up. Wizards fans would think that would be Josh Smith, with Danny Granger injured, but Smith was invisible the entire night. Hansbrough seemed to be the only player aside from Wall who cared in the game. An upcoming free agent, Hansbrough is certainly playing his way into a new contract this post-season.

Recap:

The shooting woes continued for Washington, who seem to have transformed into a completely different team in the last 2 games. After jumping out to a 3-0 series lead, the Wizards have collapsed in the last 2 games, losing by 20 to Miami in this one.

John Wall will win Player of the Game because quite frankly, aside from him and Josh Smith, no one decided to show up. Terrible performances by 10 out of the 12 Wizards players. They better come ready to play in Game 6 back in D.C. because if they don't, Miami will have all of the momentum going back home.

Recap:

It was said after Game 5 that Washington had to come out ready to play Game 6. They did, but it wasn't enough as Miami evened the series and sends it to a 7th game, in Miami. John Wall was fouled with 12 seconds to go and made both of his free throws to give the Wizards a 111-109 lead. What came next silenced the Washington crowd. Dwyane Wade brought the ball up court, made a crossover move to his left, and made a move to drive inside. Just as John Wall committed to the drive, Wade hopped back behind the 3 point line and rose up for the potential game winner. Wall, now off balance, could do nothing but watch the ball sail through the air and eventually through the net. If the Wizards want to advance, it will have to be in 7 games and done in Miami.

Wizards Player of the Game will be John Wall. He will feel it is his fault they lost because of the last second shot but that's not the case. He played well the entire game, getting his teammates involved and hopefully can continue that in the 7th and deciding game.

Game 7

Note: For some reason the game decided not to post the Box Score for game 7. I played the game a few days ago so I don't remember anyones stats other than John Wall's, and the final score. Sorry for the inconvenience.

A dejected LeBron James walks off the court after losing Game 7

WIZARDS WIN!!! The Wizards reversed the momentum and won the decisive Game 7 to move on to the Eastern Conference Finals. The game was close throughout until John Wall put the team on his back in the 4th quarter. He finished with 29 points, 16 assists and 8 rebounds in the victory.

After the game Wall was asked if he felt redeemed after beating the team that had 2 MVP finalists, an award he felt he deserved. He refused to answer, only saying that he and his team are excited about the win and looking forward to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.

Look Ahead:

The Wizards will face the Atlanta Hawks to see who goes to the NBA Finals, a team Josh Smith knows all too well. Smith, in his 10th year, played his first 9 years in the NBA with the Hawks and knows a number of the guys on the team very well.

Smith isn't the only one that has history with the Hawks. The entire Washington organization does. Atlanta eliminated the Wizards in the 2nd Round in last year's playoffs. Josh Smith is ready to show the Hawks what they are missing, and the Hawks are ready to show Smith he made a mistake leaving.

The Eastern Conference Finals should be a good match-up, and they will get underway on Saturday, May 17th, 2014.
