Madden NFL 10 is Madden

.......And that is all I really want it to be.

If I see a demo vid, I know it's Madden !
If they show me a new screen shot, I know it's Madden !
If I play the game, I know it's Madden !

Guess what...that's what I want ! That's why I come to Madden Forums ! That's why I buy the game every single year that it has been sold !

On the current consoles from Madden 2006 until today, every year it gets better...but even when it gets better, it's still Madden !

I have grown weary of all of these comments on the "Madden" forums, of how they want the dev's to do "this".....ya know.......more like 2k did five years ago.
That's not what I even care to read about, I know how to get to a 2k Forum if I wanna read this stuff......and on the flip side, I dont see the point of going there to post about how much I like Madden. What is with this backasswards thinking ?

I dont care if EA is the only one with the NFL rights, you all claim that 2k is so good anyways.....play it like it is, real teams or not !
Or go to your 2k forums, and talk about how great your game is amongst yourselves.

I never liked 2k, it didnt look right to me, it didnt play right to me.......it just never felt right to me. Now this has nothing to do with any type of favoritism for one game dev over another, it has to do with the game....period. If Madden started making games that looked and felt like the 2k series does to me....I would stop playing Madden.

But thankfully, it still looks like Madden to me....and I sure hope that never changes !

Magnumpc, reading comprehension must not be one of your strong suits.
I never said Madden was "better" ....only 2k fans feel they need to try this comparison. I said I never "liked" the 2k game...for many reasons I posted, and if Madden ever played liked 2k, I wouldnt play it either, so there goes the Madden virus theory.

Man I have to say as well,2k5 is still doing its thing and seems to b getting stronger by the year. But I play Madden because ive been doing so since 03 madden, And ill be here for both games. If the nfl open the doors back open for 2ksports then ill b playin both games. because from here Madden only will get better we have suffer trough the bad years of Madden.

The bad years of Madden?! 2k rules?! Are you people nuts?! I think what it is, is that Madden has had a hard time pleasing a younger audiance. I been playing Madden since 93'. To me 2k played like a football game you might have poured quarters into at Chuckie Cheese. You guys liked the flash and high end presentation of 2k5, but when it comes down to gameplay, come on man, Madden is that deal. Period! Now their catching up on the presentation side of things and its gonna take them a few cycles to get it right. We all know what the problems are and so do they.... commentary, halftime and post game shows and running animations. The fact that they have an online franchise alone is crazy! Pro-Tak is somthing to build on along with 9 man pile ups...9 MAN PILE UPS! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! THAT IS A HELL OF AN ACHIEVMENT IN ITSELF! You gots to give credit when credit is due. Stop being so critical and picky. Its a damn video game! The fact that they have even kept us invloved is a huge testimant to what Ian has brought to the table. They've made huge strides this year. Give him 1 to 2 more development cycles and I bet he shuts u 2k boys up. They got my bread! Now if only NCAA can get their minds right. LOL

I know what you mean rylynner. I mean their doing the best they can with what was a broken game. Their a new team talking over a franchise that was brought down to a low point and humbled. When I say humbled, I mean by what their original dev team did when next gen was released. Not by what 2k5 had to offer. We as fans of the game at least expected them to have what they had in last gen, but we got sold short. But that aint Ian's fault! So with that being said, looks like they've gotten back to basics and are about to release a great game. And I for one think its gonna be a blast. Hell I'm excited they got the reffs and the chain gang back on the field. That alone makes me extra excited about this game. Then the whole element of the new injury system with the trainer coming out with the cart and all that.... along with fighting for loose balls and what not. I mean, get real people! Thats hot! They went all out! Big ups to all my real Madden heads out there. And for all my Cubs fans out there , you know what I mean when I say "this is the year!" Cause come Aug 14th, Pepp32 and the Chicago Bears Will be ready for duty. Oh and to all those 2k5 lovers, get another hobby, dont be haters all ya life, its getting a little tired. Ian keep it moving my dude! Your doing a great job bro, and I mean that! All my real Madden folks who been here since day one know that Madden is back! And their in rair form!

I kinda get what he is saying as well as PEPP32 - There was a feel about 2K I didn't think it beat Madden in when it came to controls. 2K was definitely arcadish and that's why I didn't like it when it first came out on Dreamcast. It started to woo me a bit with 2K3 and then 2K5 got me but not until I got tired of Madden 2005. Even then, I didn't play 2K5 that much.
If Madden 10 can bring back the momentum of running it had once it went to the PS2 but improve on that, that will help give it more of the feel I really liked. Don't get me wrong because, honestly, I absolutely LOVE Madden 09, even with the glitches and stupid/cheap AI , more than any of them, and it was missing that old momentum it used to have AND was on "hyper speed" a bit, but I got used to it and the implementation of breaking tackles, highly improved graphics, and great animations just won me over like no other Madden. I even continued to play Madden 09 up until last week. I traded it in, reluctantly, but thought it would be best since the NCAA Football 10 demo I have feel like it is like an improved Madden 09 in many ways and the pre-order Madden 10 demo will be out mid to late next month then the PSN/XBL demo will be out at the beginning of Aug. Plus I may just get NCAA 10 just cuz I dig it.

At any rate, I feel what you're saying here.

Be serious 49ers94. Madden on last gen had reffs on the field. The Next Gen original dev team was terrible. Hence the fact that many things were missing from the original Madden to Next Gens Madden. Plus I think Madden fans grew tired of the boring presentation so Ian and company did somthin about it. It's not copying if it belongs in an NFL game. Their making strides to get thing done the right way, and I for one commend their effort. Besides, its like Ian said, you cant please everyone. Come 2011 it'll be 2k-who....lol

Last year's Madden was a long way from the standard 2K5 set four years prior. Madden had devolved even from it's last Xbox version. It was a game for cheesers who know nothing about football and never watch it on television. A total casual game for the mash the turbo button until you win crowd.

Madden is for older players. people who know how to call a hot, change coverage, slide defenders, motion left, change a cover 2 to man to man on the outside...all before the snap...now thats football...2K is GARBAGE...played it for 5 min and took it back to blockbuster. There is no comparison. Ian Cummings did a good job.
