NCAA 2010 rant... will anyone listen???
Posted on November 21, 2008 at 12:41 AM.
Usually we get some information leaks for NCAA FOOTBALL by this time. Has anyone heard anything yet? I have heard the refs and chain gang rumours about Madden 2010 but the NCAA folks have been very quiet.

Hopefully the EA developers have been listening to the people on these boards. Well EA, if you have been listening then you should know that we want:

1. FCS teams and CAS
2. Formation subs
3. ESPN integration
4. Uniform combinations options
5. Team specific endzones for bowl games
6. Pre game show with players on the field
7. A halftime highlight show
8. An interactive post game show (ala 2k5)
9. Enjoyable recruiting
10. Atmosphere and intensity
11. Refs, field goal nets, and chain gangs
12. Uniform editor (or at least the same menu as last gen)
13. Playbook creator
14. Fumble slider (and sliders that work)
15. New OL/DL logic that is... wel... logical

Etc, etc, etc, etc, etc

At this point the ps2 version continues to show up next gen in every possible way. 2010 has to be the year that changes... no excuses. Please stop catering to the casual gamer and get back to making a great, realistic, and fun college football game. NCAA FOOTBALL is my fave game series ever... but enough is enough. You have the exclusivity deal, now it's time to prove that you deserve it.

You are right, we have not heard a ting. I keep seeing Ian say in the Madden forums how they are in for big changes toward sim football. I hope NCAA also gets those big changes.

They have posted many, many times on the boards both here and at OS that they can't talk about any features for 2010 until the new year. No screaming or shouting is going to change that. Christmas sales are still big for them and they are focused on that rather than promote a product still many, many months away. The producer at NCAA Strategies (Greg) can't even confirm if there will be a PS2 game or not at this time.

Read the OMT thread here at OS and the producer thread at NCAA Strategies for more info. The second patch for NCAA this year almost added halftime highlights but it was a little sloppy so they pulled it. Expect to see at least that next year. Plus Greg said there will be improvements to the DL play but couldn't be more specific.

I'm onboard. Especially 6,7, and 8. I've begging for that for years.

What do you mean Jaymo by more enjoyable recruiting? That is very vague. Also, almost all of your entries are non gameplay related.

My biggest gripes with the game are the lousy existent cpu running game, the lack of the cpu QB throwing deep and also too many picks, the OL/DL interaction, poor cpu play calling and the sliders being too watered down.

By enjoyable recruitng I mean that currently it is very tedious and time consuming. I would like to see a more "ps2ish" recruiting. With regards to my list, yes, gameplay is not my #1 priority. Overall I am enjoying the 360 version this year but the lack of features from last gen really holds this game back.

I found myself thinking that recruiting was too tedious last year but have really grown to like it. You can always use the quick pitch feature to make it simpler.

There are certainly some features like formation subs that I would like to have back from last gen. Hopefully most get added next year.

Piggybacking on rudy's comment, I hated recruiting this year....WAAAAAY too tedious. Even the quick calling feature was annoying after awhile, I need something where you have a recruiting save feature that you want to do every week that will distribute the same points I allocated last week for those recruits. One button press and my recruiting is done for the week. I want to be active in recruiting but there's nothing real exciting and interesting about it from one-week to the next.

Jkra0512... I totally agree. I found the quick call feature to be very ineffective anyways so after awhile I switched back to manual calls. I would love to have an ASSISTANT COACH OPTION.... let the cpu be tedious when i don't want to.
