My thoughts on all things OS, sports, and life.
My thoughts on the growth and mis-steps of Operation Sports. There will be some thoughts on sports and anything else that comes to mind. I'll also talk a little bit about life in general too. I'm open to discuss anything that is allowed.

NBA 2K14's post launch failure is a good thing for the future of sports games and let me tell you why. Imagine a world in which 2K14 had a flawless launch. No server issues, no corrupt save issues, no crashes to the dashboard, and no broken features. As a gamer this sounds like basketball ... Read More

This is obviously HUGE news. I don't even know exactly how to react right now. Stay tuned to OS for more.

At some point we are all guilty of it. "Slider-itus". A common condition where sports gamers tweak and tinker with sliders, seeking that perfect balance to the point that we spend more time testing than actually playing. I'm certainly no exception, I've suffered from "slider-itus" many times myself. However, in this blog I'd like to talk a little bit about what sliders could be added to the Madden franchise in order to give users a bit ... Read More

1. Relocation - A last-generation feature making a return to the Madden franchise for the first time on the current consoles, Owner Mode is back and revamped. Whether it is better or worse ... Read More

On June 1st of 2009, EA Sports released Teambuilder for NCAA Football 10. EA described it as follows: "TeamBuilder is a web-based create-a-school feature that allows anyone with Internet access to log on to teambuilder.easports.com to create and share schools with the rest of the NCAA Football ... community".

At the time, this was a real innovation in the EA football series. Over 100,000 user created teams were available ... Read More

The following tips are intended as general tips and do not contain any high level strategies or specific 'money' option plays. The additions to NCAA 14 in the option game make it a much more viable game plan and those who haven't had much experience running the option in past years, may find some value here.

4. Get familiar with the controls - I know this sounds like common sense, but particularly with this year's ... Read More

The NFL Pre-Season begins in August, and while camps are on-going -- there are still several questions which will need resolving as we push towards the season. As with all NFL pre-seasons, there will be numerous questions answered about which teams are poised to make a run at the Big Bowl this year.

Inevitably, each storyline we are following also has huge impacts on this year's Madden NFL game as well. So without ... Read More

If you have any interest in general manager simulations, baseball games, or anything related to either, then you owe it to yourself to try out OOTP 14. The game is on sale for the next 3 days at half off the regular price. At $19.99, the game is a steal.

Our own Caley Roark gave the game a 9/10 review score back in April.http://www.operationsports.com/revie...k-baseball-14/

If you've been on the fence about the game, now is the time to jump in!

By now we've all seen the trailer from the EA Sports presser. Madden NFL 25 on XBox One looks outstanding in trailer form. Really impressive. It was an exciting trailer packed with nifty footwork, improved blocking, and more detail than we've ever seen in Madden.

Everyone was concerned about this being similar to the "concept" footage from Madden 06 for Xbox 360, but I think this trailer looked much more realistic to what the ... Read More

A lot of Madden NFL 25 news today, as well as Microsoft's XBOX ONE reveal. Starting with the Microsoft event, we didn't really get anything concrete for Madden, but we did hear about a renewed focus on AI and a dynamic crowd experience for next-gen. Two things that are sorely lacking from this generation's Madden games. We should learn a lot more, including some real information at E3 in June.

We also got news on ... Read More

Pittsburgh had a great draft, which should help them in Madden NFL 25 later this year.

Everyone who has ever picked up and played a copy of Madden NFL Football knows that certain positions are more valuable than others inside the game. Skill position players usually reign supreme. With that knowledge, let's take a look at some NFL Draft winners and some losers, Madden style.

The Madden NFL franchise faces many challenges in convincing former Madden-ites, console gamers, and long-time skeptics alike that the game will be a significant upgrade on next-gen platforms. The goodwill that Madden had created during the PS2/XBox era is gone for many after several years of what some fans call disappointing releases from EA Sports.

EA and Tiburon now find themselves in the unenviable spot ... Read More

5. Spread 'em out!

With the new spread offenses that are coming into popularity thanks in no small part to potential Madden NFL 25 cover boy Colin Kaepernick and similar quarterbacks, the offensive playbooks desperately need an overhaul. We've had very few changes in this department for years and it's even worse in the defensive playbooks. You simply can't replicate some of the more dynamic option attacks on offense ... Read More
