Well, Very Slow was doing...something...to the sliders. Or maybe it was just magnifying the flaws that I was having. Not to mention using a fantasy draft team REALLY exposed the flaws. It seems the Ravens are just insane on the front 7 defense, so getting them to be less insane was making my young, but talented fantasy draft team get destroyed on the run.

Also, I saw too much stupidity going on now with the fantasy rosters. Both my and the AI players just standing around as guys run ... Read More

I decided to try Very Slow game speed after hearing that the animations in the game look far better.

They do.

And the gameplay seems to change as well as a result. So I had to tweak the sliders more and am still in process of doing that.

In the meantime, The Colts ran up and down the field (yes, ran - Manning only threw 21 passes) on my defense and won 29-17.

I restarted the Franchise since update #8 came out for the rosters and got all I could ... Read More

Well - another close game, and this time, I'm the loser. Final Score, DEN 20, BAL 19.

It was looking like it was going to be UGLY. Denver got a TD on their first play. Ravens go 3 and out. Denver goes 75 yds on 4 plays - giving up their second long catch and run for a TD. 14-0 and the 1st quarter just got going.

But the Ravens battle back. They get 16 in the second quarter, capped by a Ray Rice TD run.

Nothing much happened in the third quarter. Ravens got ... Read More

Well, at least these are making close games

Had to face the Vikings, so good test of the new run blocking sliders for the CPU. Peterson makes it look like it can work. When the defense could contain him, he got a few yards, even a few losses. When he broke contain - look out. I won 20-14, and Peterson had both TDs, a 51 yd run and a 14 yd run. He finished with 19 carries for 123 yards and the 2 TDs.

Favre was actually the weak link. Well, he wasn't BAD but only 53% completion ... Read More

Just played a game with the adjustments I made and had another close game.

The defense saved me, creating four turnovers - but the offense was hit-and-miss all day. Threw an INT with Flacco (who had a bad day all around) that went for a TD.

It was ugly for the offenses but the Ravens won 25-17. Ravens kicked SIX field goals.

Just like in the real game, the Bengals had the ball with the last chance to win it and, just like the real game, needed a TD. No cardiac ... Read More

Well, after finally tearing myself away from NFL Head Coach 09, I got back into these sliders.

I'm torn about lowering QB accuracy after seeing Flacco play this week. Also, he's completing 64% of his passes so far. I lowered it some as I do think 73% is too high (though maybe not much for a good game, or even a not so good one. He had 71% comp. in the loss vs Bengals)

Also increased breaking tackles some as I'm not happy with the yardage on the ground outside of long runs. ... Read More

Keyword: MY.

In other words, looking for realism as much as possible while having great games and realistic stat output.

So far, though, I've decided that:

-There's going to have to be some suction in the current engine - it just seems the player AI counts on it.

-Somehow, defenses for the AI just rise up to stop the run in the 4th quarter.

-Psychic coverage is a bit easier to get away from, but still - it can be questionable and ... Read More
