FIFA 14 Next Gen Issues Blog (XB1)
Posted on November 22, 2013 at 10:57 PM.
Instead of creating clutter in the FIFA '14 Impressions thread for all issues I run across I've decided to just keep an updated blog going. Please keep in mind that some of these issues will be very minor and while they might seem like I'm nitpicking my SOLE purpose is for the advancement of future iterations.

Here we go:

1) Root of Issue - Player injured during play but the severity is not one in which it would require the player to be substituted.

Issue - If a player gets injured on the pitch and does not come off an update from the pitch-side reporter should be not be given. How can you can give an exact diagnosis from the sideline without the player even limping off the pitch?

Recommended Solution(s) - Initiate conversation from match commentators about what the injury could be
a)Player limps off the pitch to a waiting team physician(s)

b)Play stops (team in possession plays ball out) -> the team physicians come on (maybe a water-boy brings out water in sports bottles for players) -> nearby players gather around the injured player (possibly drinking said water) -> player is addressed medically -> player HAS to go off because physicians came on (possibly with a limp if it's a lower-body injury) -> play is resumed (ball) returned to team who was last in possession) -> if player is fit he waits for official to let him back in (possibly trying to "test" the injury on the sideline) -> If player cannot return a substitute warms-up and enters game (possible interaction w/ assistant staff coaches to receive instruction prior to entering) -> Sideline reporter updates and confirms injury and player status (taken off or good to go).
